So i am due anytime int he next few weeks (38 weeks + 2 days right now) and i cant stop thinking about how fun it will be to take my baby to the river, but im wondering how long will it take for me to get a bikini body back. i came from 101 lbs. at 5`4`. i am not expecting to get that low again as that was also when i was smoking, so i am hoping for 120 maybe 125, to be back in a bikini, but how long should it take to get back to that when i weigh 153 right now? HELP!!!!

It really depends. Everyone is different. I gained 25 pounds. I didn't weight myself until my 6 week check up and I already lost it all without working out.

I lost 30 of the 35 pounds that I gained by my 6 week check up. But its not so much the weight loss as the squishy tummy you're left with. It does go away, but like the other moms have said it takes a few months. I wouldn't count on wearing a bikini this summer, but what's wrong with a one piece and a cover up? :)

It of course depends on your diet and exercise regime after baby gets here. I started running 2 weeks after my daughter was born and put myself on a strict diet and I was back to my prepregnancy size in about 3 months. It also takes time for your skin to tighten back up. As your tummy shrinks there is extra skin and then after a few weeks it will tighten up. Then tummy shrinks again, and you have to wait for the skin to tighten again, it's a process.

Everyone is different. It takes about 4-6 weeks for your uterus to shrink back to normal. Some people bounce back in no time and others it takes a few months. It all depends on age, body type, your metabolism.. etc. When I gave birth, I was 156 pounds and prepreggo, I weighed 115. By 4 weeks PP, I was down to 120 with really only eating healthy, eating more filling foods, and drinking only water. Now, I am happy at my weight, I just needed to tone my tummy a little (still working on that). Your skin is also stretched to the max and it takes time to heal and tighten up. I'm 3 months PP now and feel comfortable in a bikini. You can always buy a tankini for the summer. You are young and you will probably bounce back pretty quickly. Just do it in a healthy way. And remember EVERYONE is different!

I am 6 months pp and I am almost 20lb under my pre pregnancy weight! I credit it mostly to breastfeeding. With your first, I hear it is easier to lose the weight. We are the same age and I hear age has a lot to do with it. But, remember it took you 9 months to get that big so don't expect it to just fall off immedietly!

I didn't exploit my twin pregnancy and eat my face off. I seen a lot of my friends realllly play up the "cravings" thing and gain a ton of weight with a singleton. I watched what I ate and my weight gain. Even at that I went over my "prescribed weight gain" by 5 lbs. I started out weighing 135 lbs at 5'6". I gained 55 lbs and delivered weighing 190 lbs (I was supposed to gain 45-50 lbs...oops). Two months PP I was back down to 135 lbs and three months PP I'm 10 lbs lighter than when I started, 125 lbs. I did not breastfeed, so that has nothing to do with it. I am young, 22. But again, I think I lost it so fast because all I really gained was "baby weight". There was not a ton of "extra" going on there. I am already back in my bikini. Check out my PP pics on my page. I was astounded at how quick my body went back...and remember I had two :o)

I thought breast feeding would help me lose the weight, but that didn't happen. I had my baby 17 months ago, and I am finally down to my pre-prgnancy weight.I am 5'5 and wieghed 130, I got up to 162 the day before pregnancy .but to be honest, I never worked out, I eat TERRIBLY..well not too bad, but I deff. do not eat how I should. It's not that I eat junk, it's the fact that I bearly eat. I don't snack on anything, and I drink coffee all day. So i probably went about this the completely wrong way....but i still got my body back...minues a tiny pooch on my belly and 2-3 strecth marks. I think it has a lot to do with genetics to be honest. I know women who eat well, excercise all the time before and after pregnancy..and they are still pretty big..and are considered "obese" by the books....good luck, I do not reccommend the method i did to lose the weight, but it is the way I have always been...except when I was pregnant, I did all the right things..quit smoking, eat normally and excercised. Good luck.

with my first baby i started out at 115 and got up to 160 ish, by 2 and a half weeks after i was just about back to my normal, and by 2 months i was even a little smaller but i was breast feeding, young mom, and first baby. i have heard it's harder with formula, harder with age, and harder the more kids you've had so your body is stretched.

if it makes you feel any better, I am also 5'4" and I am already to 180. I plan on giving myself 9 months to take it off, since that's how long it took to put it on.

I went from 110lbs to 148lbs. and im 5'1"....its been 4 months 1 week and im 2 lbs away from being back to 110lbs. everyone is different though...i probably would have been back to my pre preggo weight by the time he was 2 months ols, but i didnt do very much until he was 3 and a half months old, it all depends on how long it takes you to recover and actually start moving around....good luck!!
