what do contractions feel like?

So im somewhere between 35 and 36 weeks.. ive never felt any braxtion hicks or anything like that so i dont know what they feel like.. so today i kept getting this feeling like i was doing a sit up or like tightening the muscles in my tummy.. im not sure what that it is.. sometimes it would hurt down there if ya know what i mean.. and sometimes i wouldnt than sometime i would get short of breath.. whats going on... I cant be in labor yet and i really dont think thats what it is.. i just dont know though.. help?

LailasMommy - 182 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you are definately havin braxton hicks girl don't worry real contractions (to me) felt like excuse my language but like you had to take the worst shit in your life and your stomach feels like its being twisted its horrible sorry don't wanna scare you but hey if your getting the epideral and the anestesiologist does it right you won't feel any pain i NEVER did after i got it....well hope i helped some:)

sexymummy - 184 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) contractions feel like a massive massive cramp in your stomach... about 100 times a period pain.. its unbearable. well i say this but i whizzed through the first stage of labor.. i must of slept through the pain.

wisfarmgirl - 185 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You described Braxton Hicks contractions exactly. Actual labor pains will stop you in your tracks, you won't be able to talk or walk through them. They ideally should build up gradually from weaker to stronger and closer together and lasting longer. You will not wonder if you're in labor or not, you will know. :)

vickiessecret - 185 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) That sounds like braxton hicks contractions. Real labor contractions feel like intense period cramps...horrible horrible cramps. You'll know when you feel those. But it sounds like braxtonhicks..which is your body preparing for the real thing... Good Luck :)
