Okay so basically my doctor put me on tebutaline for preterm labor. well I really have been trying not to take it due to the side effects not only on me but the baby. I have a lot of discomfort im my pelvis(im 31 weeks) and i feel a lot a presssure as if someone is smashing the air out of me...then my head starts pounding and my tummy to my toes go numb...so after about 2 weeks with this I finally took one today...still not working it hurts a lot i really dnt know what to make of it. I never felt this waywith my son. what do you all think I should do?

cowgirlygirl28 - 989 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would take the meds as advised. I have delivered all my children prematurely and you DO NOT want that. I was on medications too and they have had no problems from it. What you are feeling is probably the baby pressing on a nerve or blood vessel...lay down on your left side when you feel that. I had my recent LO at 32 weeks and he spent a month in the NICU. They never know how long they will have to stay until they are born so you might think it is ok to stop the meds and risk delivering now, but you won't know for sure...Some moms took their LO's home after a week or two, some much longer. I wouldn't risk it. Terbutaline makes you feel horrible, I went through the same thing but if it means staying pregnant longer then it is worth it
