I went for my follow up appointment with my dietitian yesterday and we went over my numbers and diet from this last week. My after meals numbers a re pretty good, exept the days I cheated a little! (oops) The ones that are not so great are my fasting restults. They were around 85-87 now they are going up to 105-110. Is there anything I can do to keep these numbers in the normal range? I really don`t want to start the insulin pill, or worse the shot! I`m already checking my blood sugar 4 times a day, and giving my self a shot of Lovenox in the tummy every night. so, the last thing I want s more needles!!! Thanks in advance for you help!!!!

mamacakes - 985 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) eat a half of peanut butter sandwich or eat a big spoonful of peanut butter right before bed

munchkinsmommie - 986 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had 1/2 peanut butter sandwich before bed and it helped my fasting sugars. You need protein thru the night, it helps regulate your sugars.

mamacakes - 986 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had the same problem as you....eat a nice size spoonful of peanut butter before bed....lol...i know it sounds strange....but the protein will help..LOL....id be curious if it works for you as it did me...let me know! good luck!

abbyquiet - 986 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) other than exercize... i dont know. when i was pregnant last time around, they kept saying that anything can bring your sugars up, like, they can go up even when you are following the diet strictly and exercizing. stress, emotions, or just plain nothing at all can make em rise. but exercize was the best thing to try to control it.

klunkette - 986 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I don't know I haven't had that problem thank goodness, but my dietician did say that eating before bed...like right before, helps. If you can stomach it, it is actually pretty yummy, try Soy milk (plian) it has less carbs and a lot of protien. Good Luck!

LGK616 - 986 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had problems with fasting times as well but I found that eating protein before bed helped. Try a piece of cheese and an apple or milk and an apple. Good luck!!!
