i wouldn't worry about it unless she isn't meeting other developmental milestones (see the baby section of this site for the age of your child). The longer she goes without crawling is better- less worrying that she will try to kill herself chewing on electrical cords or other potential hazards. When she's 18 months and crawling on your furniture and knocking your coffee out of your hands in the morning as she throws the phone at your head, you will wish she was 6 months old again and couldn't crawl yet. Don't push her to grow up faster than she is already- time goes by quick enough :) good luck mom!

It is certainly very individual. Some babies don't want to crawl, and after a year they stand and walk, totally skipping crawling. Even at 8mo I wouldn't yet worry about it, neithe with the bottle holding! Though concentrating on both can make it happen faster.

6 months would be on the earlier side if she was crawling. My little girl started crawling at 7 months and walking at 10.5. Don't worry she;s got plenty of time.

Its a bit early to be worrying about her not crawling yet hon. She will. My daughter will be 12 months old on the 23rd and she isnt formally crawling yet either, she scoots across the floor, but she was a 28 wk preemie so that is why she is so delayed, but I wouldnt worry just yet, some babies never crawl and they go right on to walking.

No worries - all babies are different as other posters have said! My daughter will be 8 months old on the 14th and she doesn't crawl. She rolls around easily and she still doesn't pull herself up to a sitting position - although she can sit by herself if I put her in the position. Many babies skip the crawling phase and go right to walking. So I wouldn't worry. Once she starts - you'll be wishing she wasn't crawling as you'll be chasing her everywhere!

i felt the same way...and i even had a question similar to yours...everyone told me that like every pregnancy, every child is different. my son started to crawl at 8.5 months, and he is now 10 months old and has NO interest in a sippy cup. give you daughter time, when she is ready she will do it. good luck mama!

All babies do things at different times and there's really no set age when they should crawl or walk. My daughter will be 9 months old next month and doesn't crawl yet, she started holding her own bottle a week or two ago. She loves to walk around if we hold her hands, she may just go right to walking. I never crawled as a baby I just went to walking...I kinda feel the same way, like when is she gonna crawl but they all do it at their own pace... Take Care :)

put her on a treadmill....lol. just joking. every child is different. every child at my daughters daycare have walked at different months from 8mo-16mo. don't worry but if your baby is too heavy try encouraging her with a push/walker or have her around walking children. Walking children always makes them want to get up and go with them.

My daughter didn't crawl until 9 months and she walked at 13 months. My son is 7 months and still is not crawling. I wouldn't worry about it most babies crawl between 5-10 months I believe. Every child is different. Be patient. She will be walking before you know it!

Stop worrying. Comparing your baby to others will only drive you insane. A LOT of six month olds don't crawl, the ones who do are actually considered ahead.

Please dont worry. My daughter only started crawling around 9 months and I wasn't concerned as all kids develop at their own pace.

Ha, my son didn't crawl till like 10 months! He walked at about 13-14 months. Don't worry about it, it's not even considered a developmental milestone...some kids never crawl.
