ok i gave my son a pacifier cause lately he wants the bottle kept in his mouth all night which i can`t do it`s not a safe thing so i have been sneeking the pacifier in instead. will babies suck on them while they sleep? cause every once in a while i hear him suck and i`m wondering if he`s asleep or if it keeps him awake (it`s too dark to tell lol)

Debra - 974 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) good for you to give him the paci instead! a bottle filled with anything but water encourage bacteria growth and leads to tooth decay! (as I'm sure you are well aware of!). Babies have a natural need to suck. They will suck in their sleep with nothing in their mouth, find their fingers or use the pacifier if its there. The only bad thing about paci use is that you will have to go and put it back in there until he is able to do it himself- which can be a pain. Will he suck his fingers too? That's the easiest at the moment, but if he grows dependent on finger sucking- the hardest to get rid of in the end.
