I had my first daughter when I was 16 and when I graduated from high school and then college now I am 26 pregnant with my second girl. my question is what do you say to the millions of people who say wow you waited a long time or what took you so long? Should I explain myself? I am really tired of the comments.

My daughter and baby to be will be 7 years apart and I get the same thing. People assume this is my first or ask if my daughter and son have the same father! Can you believe that? What nerve! Sometimes I tell people that I neede to work on my education and become more stable before expanding my family. Most people will stop there and be satisfied with that answer.

mariettap - 970 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Sorry to hear you get a lot of comments. Most people just can't imagine why a person might take the road less traveled. When I was pregnant w/ my 2nd (7 yr gap) some people told me they just figured I wasn't planning on having a 2nd. That tells me that while I was busy having one miscarriage after another and just struggling away through something deeply personal, people on the outside were busy watching and wondering what I was up to. The upshot: There's no more personal matter than a person's reproduction. Everybody has a journey. I would not be afraid to say so, either. Short, sweet, and sends an important message. Sometimes comments are meant to invite you to open up and share, but that's your choice.

jaychay - 970 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my partner has a daughter who is 15 with a woman and a son who is 11 with another. im his 3rd mother of a child. we have been together 9 years and our son is 7months its nothing to be ashamed of

sheenat3 - 970 days ago I agree with pooka my first love gave me the number 1 love of my life and my second and current real love just given me the next love of my life.

pooka - 970 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) emma32uk, my children all have different fathers too other then my youngest and my newest I am currently pregnant with. I don't think it sounds bad, everyone has a different life situation and we don't know the cards that will be handed to us. Just be proud of yourself and your children!

jaychay - 970 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) me and my sister are 11 years apart she loves it. i now have a 7 month old and she really helps out. we have a great relationship. just ignore peoples comments

emma32uk - 971 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my children are 15, 4 and just over two weeks. i know what you mean though i get alot of comments too, i just usually smile and aggree to what ever they say. i dont like explaining my self really as they all have different fathers ( not sounding good i know!!) but its life, most people think my youngest 2 are both my partners as the 4 year old looks like him which is good. alot of people dont know my daughter exists as shes 15 and doesnt really hang out with her mum!!! lol they assume i just have the two. i really wouldnt let peoples comments bother you, just smile !!

sheenat3 - 971 days ago thanks for the help!

jaydsmom - 971 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My kids are only 7 years apart, but I usually make a smartass comment like "i finally figured out what caused it the first time and decided to do it again".

pooka - 971 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My children are spaced apart, 14,11 1 and i am pregnant again. when people comment I usually just make a joke like I had a bit of sanity left from the first go round I decided to give it another go. Or something like that. Most people just laugh and carry on.

RobinG - 971 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You dont need to explain anything to them ~ if they ask why the spread just smile and say it was perfect for me. My kids are 13.5, 9 and 19 months and I am 42. I get comments alot and I just smile and say I wouldnt have it any other way ~

Bangel - 971 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I wouldn't bother explaining myself; that would get old real fast. Think I would just smile/laugh and say 'yes, I took my time.'
