I am in my second trimester of pregnancy and I currently have a horribly uncomfortable yeast infection. I read on the internet that yeast infections are very common in pregnant women due to hormonal changes. Has anyone else experienced an increase in yeast infections during pregnancy?

mrsscorpio - 968 days ago Thanks for all your responses...these infections are in deed very annoying

mariettap - 969 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) 2nd trimester hormones are notorious for this. The pH levels change and then suddenly everything goes haywire in there. This is why yeast infections and bacterial infections sometimes crop up at the same time. Do bring it up at your next OB visit so they can take a culture and set everything right. In the meantime, I hope you had some success with an over the counter remedy for the yeast. It makes my skin crawl just remembering it!

M2G - 969 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've had one with every pregnancy....They suck. Pick up some Canestan. Be sure to use the longest treatment - which is 6 or 7 days. It is 100% safe.

RobinG - 969 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yes and it was a pain, call your doc and get a script or be seen to get one. BV is also very common during pregnancy ~ had that too alot. They have over the counter meds for yeast but a script is best to treat :) doc may want to see you to be sure it is yeast.

newyearsbb - 970 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) ive never had one in my life and oddly in my 10th week of pregnancy at a pap found out i had one, no symptoms at all, so thank god the doc was down there. so yes i would say big increase since before pregnancy i never experienced one and read up on it and found out its all the hormones and with pregnancy they are harder to get rid of so ful 7 day cream treatment no pills etc
