i have a question im am now 38 weeks pregnant and, last night i was laying in bed and i felt this really strong pain down below and it made me jump..... and also like most of the day i have been feeling pressure and pains below....when i walk i have to stop for a second when the pain comes and they keep coming and going.....what is this??? is this little contractions or something?? this is my first child so what is this??

I wanna say its the baby moving down and getting ready and there are sooooo many ligaments there... Thats what I am thinking but im in nursing not a doc.. add me .. jen

AubreyP - 968 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I get similar pains when I lay down. Then when I sit back up I get them too. At night when I get out of bed to pee I get pains like that. My doctor said it is because there is alot of pressure down low. The baby is really pressing on my intestines and bladder. You are getting close!! The baby is running out of space in there and making you uncomfortable. Bring it up to your doc and see what he/she has to say, but it is probably just the pressure. My Doctor says I am not going to have a small baby!!

nicola5 - 968 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i have been getting the exact same thing since 37 weeks and my midwife says it is pressure pains i was admitted to hospital last week because i was doubled over crying but they cant find anything wrong and say it just really bad pressure pains i am not getting them so bad anymore hope this helps but if u are really worried i would ring your dr

nutnut - 968 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had pains down low, and also it felt like the baby was going to "fall out". she didnt fall out though lol i had to be induced. i had contractions on and off for a full two weeks before my daughter was born. dr. told me its normal and dont worry. i would talk to your dr. better safe than sorry and it will make you feel better.

robbinsnest - 969 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The pain is probably the babies head moving down further into the birth canal. probably getting contractions too, contractions will cover your whole stomach and feel like its tightening, you will feel like your getting a major menstrual cramp. I've had five, so I know a little bit about it! :) That is exactly how my first one felt, lot of pain below! Had the baby a week later. Good luck and God Bless!
