Julianna - 966 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was induced with all 3 of my children.....apparently my body doesn't have a clue how to go into labor on its own. My first was really hard & really fast! Next time I told them to take their time and they did. I had about 10 hours of labor start to finish but only 12 minutes of pushing....no pain meds with the first 2. Baby #3 comes along 12 years after second and, once again, induction....the first attempt, 1 week before my due date failed miserably. I was on pitocin all day and having contractions, but it did nothing....then 2 weeks later we tried again. I had an epidural this time and wouldn't change that for the world! Had a healthy baby boy after about 14-1/2 hours labor. Each one was longer than the previous, but I don't know any different than induction. Unfortunately I was overdue with all 3

dc_finest82 - 966 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) & I didn not get a c-section because i was induced, my daughter's supersized head would not fit down the birth canal and her head was starting to get the cone shape lol now you know we didnt want that lls. everything will be fine....congrats again.

dc_finest82 - 966 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was induced and honestly the only difference that I really felt was the contractions seem to come harder and stronger really quickly. I did not gradually start contracting, it just instantly started once I was induced. I was still in labor for about 12 hours and then eventually I had to get a c-section. But once the epidural hit, I was in la la land lol & Then my miracle came into thsi world and I have been smilingever since. Congrats and everything will be fine.

aidensmommy1 - 966 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was induced at 39 weeks with pitocin..My labor and delivery went very well. I never had any issues at all and did not need a c-section. The only thing with me was I ended up getting a bad 4th degree tear but I have no idea if that had anything to do with being induced. Its all going to be different for each person, some people do end up with c-sections from being induced but others don't. Good luck and congrats on getting to meet your little one soon!

amandita - 966 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i got induced 2 weeks over due no drugs for the pain and gave birth to a beautiful 10p 2oz baby girl... i had no problems with it. dont worry urself u will be fine ;) good luck !

aussiekim - 966 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was 10 days overdue when I was induced. I was only 1-2 cm dilated so they used the gel to try to get things going. Next morning nothing so they put in more gel, just after lunch I was 2-3 cm so they decided to break my waters and not long after that they started the hormone drip. The pain was incredible and after 2 hours I couldnt stand it anymore and had an epi. The drugs make the contractions harger, stronger and faster than normal. The epi was fantastic. I could still move my legs and feel people touching my legs but the paid was gone. All I could feel was a bit of pressure in the vejayjay which was great when it came to pushing I knew when I had to. My labour was 6.5 hours long. I think I would have preferred a natural birth but the induction was fine. If I were to be induced again I wouldnt try to tough it out through the pain - I would go for the epi sooner. Good luck. Once you have that new little person on your chest you wont even care.

jumpingbean - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was induced with my little girl two weeks ago. I was first induced with cervidil the week before I had her. They induced twice with that and it did nothing. The week after I went back to a different hospital and had my waters broken and was induced with oxytocin. It went very fast and was painful but I would definetly do the labour part again, it's all the appointments I had prior to being induced that I don't want to do again

calisto - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i was induced with my second child and all i can say is it was really fast and one of my best labors but everyone is different

sarahann - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was induced with my first, so I have nothing to compare it to yet but the midwives told me that the pain and contractions come on stronger and quicker when you're induced. Apparently it's only so bad because your body doesn't have a chance to build up to it slowly. They tried Cervidil on my cervix for two nights in a row which didn't do anything. The next morning they decided to induce me by breaking my waters and giving me Pitocin. Yes, it hit me hard and fast and I ended up getting an epidural, but I had a difficult birth anyway, unrelated to being induced. My labour lasted for about 10 hours. I'm hoping I won't have to be induced again so I can see what it's like to go naturally, but due to my hypertension it probably won't be an option. In the end though, what matters is that you and your baby are safe and well. Best wishes for your birth.

Jenny309 - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was induced and it took 36 hours.. So it just depends on how your body is going into it, I had no dialation but mostly thinned out. I would do it again and probably will have to, but just be prepared it might take londer than a couple hours.

JuliMomOf4 - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've been induced twice and I probably will be again this time. I found my inductions to be as quick if not quicker than my natural labours. I can't really complain about 1 to 2 hour long labours with induction. It hurts a lil more, but giving birth DOES hurt either way lol.

LoveChild - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was induced not even 3 months ago and I would totally do it again. It was 7 hours of labor and I had my daughter. Nothing went too drastically different then the first time and I wasn't induced then. You'll be fine! Any questions I would be happy to answer! :)

mamalvs4 - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i was induced after my water broke and i had no progress for 6 hours.......it was my first so i didnt have anything to compare too, it was okay i guess, it was a means to an end and i was too excited to see my son that i didnt really care how

ohiomomof4boys - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) hello, I came across your question and wanted to tell you that I have been induced 3 times and I will probably be induced again. I did not have any problems with the induction with any of them. My labors were actually kind of quick too. Good luck, I hope all goes well for you.

STCT - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) CONGRATS!!! I was induced and would never changed anything. You can read my birth story if you have time.

nutnut - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it just depends on the person. getting induced wasnt the problem, it was having my water broke. some women say it doesnt hurt, but i seriously felt like the doctor was stabbing me with a butcher knife. it could be bc i was having a massive contraction at the time or something. but that was the only part i wouldnt want again, jsut bc it hurt me. the epidural didnt work right on me so i still felt everything. but honestly i dont believe it was bc of being induced. they broke my water before any pain meds. so for this time, i really dont want to be induced only bc of the breaking my water, unless they drug me up prior! but its different with everyone. i was in labor for a long time, but kept stalling, i was at the hospital at midnight and they decided to induce me at 4am to help things move along, and i was sceduled to be induced the following morning anyway. so from midnight til about 430pm the next day i was laboring. i was exhausted. i think if i wouldve gone in that morning, for my appoinment things wouldve gone faster, but since i was already there they just kept me rather than send me home and have to come back at 8am. good luck. im sure you will be fine. every woman is different. the whole birth was less painful than breaking my water, and omg the hemoriods after hurt more as well. LOL go figure i needed pain management for the texas sized hemmoroid more than pushing out the 8 lb baby LOL

meecob - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It's only as bad as you make it. I was induced at 41 wks...the pitocin started at 6am, just before my water broke, and I ended with a c-section at 10pm. they upped my pitocin every hour and I did it with no epidural. It wasn't as painful as I anticipated, felt like period cramps x2 - the moniters sucked; they were in the way all day! You have to unplug everytime you pee (which is every half hour). You'll be fine :) Good Luck!! and just remember, this won't even be a thought in your mind once you are holding that beautiful bundle of joy :)

luvbeingamom - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have now been induced twice. The first time was long long process. They nearly stopped the induction 24 hours after it started b/c of lack of progress but gave it another 30 minutes and i hate dilated another 4 cm by the end of that half hour. I finally gave birth 29 and half hours after the start of the induction. The first 20 hours or labor or so it wasn't bad at all. I was talking, playing cards, reading etc. It was tiring and the pain was increasing but it was manageable (without drugs for about 20 hours). The induction almost ended in c-section partly b/c of the stress on me and the baby but mostly b/c of the cord was around my son's neck. I did have to be cut partly b/c of the cord. But other than that it was a good birth. My second induction was cake! It started at 8am and my son was born at 3:43pm. It went quickly. I got the epi at around 11. It was a perfect birth (for me:-))

mommy-at-home - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My 2nd baby was induced and it was SO MUCH BETTER than my 1st! My doc let me get the epi at 4 cm so I really didn't experience much pain - getting the epi and having my water broke were the worst pains I felt (which I don't want to experience again!) I did hemorrhage soon after baby was born - that can be a complication of being induced BTW. Before I hemorrhaged I was thinking that being induced was the way to go, but since I hemorrhaged I don't know...I would be induced again just to keep baby from getting too big as my first was 9 lbs. 5 oz. and came late. I was scheduled to be induced with my 3rd, but he came on his own...less than an hour from the time labor started until he was born -> now THAT is the way to have a baby! LOL

krystiannoah - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) no, everyone is NOT right, lol....i was induced(you already knew that cuz i talk to you all the time..lol..) but anyways, pitocin started at 8am ish...and by i think it was like 12:30, it still wasnt doing anything so they kept increasing it..and by 2:30pm i actually started to feel some pain, so i asked for the epidural(which was quick and painless) and im glad i got that cuz if i didnt, i wouldnt have made it(i could tell by the pain from the first few contractions, which werent too bad but i did have to breathe through them lol). the only thing that i didnt like about having a baby was the aftermath...it actually hurt me so much more after having him then it did anything else i had ever experienced(i had a lot of stitches down there)..okay, im done rambling now lol.

happyforest - 967 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) hi, i was induced at 40 weeks 3 days. everyone is right, IT SUCKS!! and i didnt have to go through getting cervadil or anything bc i was 3 cm 80% effaced and contracting some on my own when i went in. it really wasnt too bad at first, but they kept coming in to turn up the pitocin every hour. so eventually when it got to 8 or so, i was miserable, crying with every contraction, sitting on a birth ball bent over the hospital bed while my fiance rubbed my back. i had wanted a natural birth, but the pitocin ruined that for me. i got the epidual and am so glad i did!! i think anyone who gets induced should definatly get the epi. after that i had NO PAIN. i was so exhausted (been up about 20 hours and wasnt allowed to eat AT ALL) so i tried to sleep and still couldnt, but they came in and checked me and i was complete and hadnt known it at all. then i didnt even know when i was pushing that he was coming out until they let me reach down and feel his head. he was 9 lb and 5 oz! all the pain is totally worth it, its only bad till u get the epi, and i got it at 5 cm. good luck!! oh and it was worn off 30 min after he was born so i wasnt numb all night or anything. i wouldnt WILLINGLY get induced again just bc i wanted to, but most likely i will have to since i have large babies, they wont want me to go past my due date. i hope i go natural so bad!!
