I have been feeding my 8 1/2 month old raisins and he loves them.. only thing is that when he poops, I can see all the raisins he ate- (gross I know) just now there were litteraly probably 60 raisins in there.. is this normal or is his body not digesting them or whats up??

they actually help him go poop-- when he is constipated, I give him raisins and within an hour he fills his diaper

i guess there is just certain foods that some people cant digest....i know corn is one that most people poop right back out...(sorry if tmi)but i know that from experience(lol) but im assuming that as long as he is still going to the bathroom its fine...and as far as the choking hazard..not to say that anyone is wrong on here but anything and everything are choking hazards...even for adults...same with cavities(with the exception of a few things lol)...if he loves them, i say let him eat them ....

Sounds like they're not being digested. I know the same thing happens when I give my son corn (and he's TWO!)

raisins are also linked to cavities in children. not that you shouldnt give them raisins at all but in moderation just like anything else. my daughter loved them and yes they came out whole in her poop, so i just had to limit them. she obviously wasnt chewing them enough lol its pretty gross like corn LOL

oh, and I just read online that they are a choking hazard-- but I only give him the littest ones in the box and throw the medium and big ones away.
