how much do you spend on YOURSELF a every week (makeup, nails, eating out, buying lunch if you`re a working mom, clothing, etc.)? Please answer if you`re comfortable doing so, as I understand money/finances can be a sensitive topic sometimes. I only ask because I want to compare my own habits to other moms / moms to be. I rarely got a chance to cook because I was teaching and in school and had an infant. I would buy breakfast and lunch, too. Yes, it adds up ... about $10 every week day, but, basically between $50-60/work-week. We`re realizing that this is too much for our budget in terms of our long term goals (move out of our current city/state, etc.). Any budgeting tips welcomed! (I was once planning to be a SAHM, if you recall other posts, but am continuing to teach and provide a second income because our new long term goals). THANKS!!!

femi - 960 days ago yeah i find myself buying my daughter stuff, too, all of the time, but coupled with my own bad spending habit, it's too much! lol. i've been good this week ... haven't bought outside food and been using my crockpot!

wwatters18 - 961 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) lol, i dont buy myself anything except when i really need makeup(i use clinique). i use to get manis and pedis and go on shopping trips. BUT now its all about my daughter! i LOVE buying her things! i buy her something all the time, either at the stores or online! its a bad habit! but i also miss doing things for myself. but like i said, more than that i love doing things for her

bumbleguys - 962 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I'm a single parent and I am a teacher myself. For lunch, I usually bring leftovers or eat school food (it's not that bad haha!!). I only go out to lunch if we have a teacher work day and the kids are not in school. As for makeup, I don't wear much but I probably spend 10-15 dollars a month. I don't get my nails done and I get my hair done every 6 weeks (just shampoo, cut, and style- $35 plus tip). I do, however, go tanning ($35 a month). We rarely go out to eat (my son is only 4 months), probably 2-3 times a month and 75% of the time it's with family and my parents insist on paying. As for new clothes, I spend maybe 50 dollars a month on myself and it's usually on work clothes (I did buy a new bathing suit recently). Before I had my son, I was a starbucks every day kind of girl but now I suck it up and make my own at home, saves a lot. As for budgeting tips, I learned to NOT impulse buy anymore! I used to just buy a shirt I liked or new things for around the house but decided to only buy what I need and let myself splurge every other month or so. I would start bringing your own lunch to work, that would save 150-200 a month in itself for you! Good luck!

SazaUK(TTC2) - 963 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Nothing. I need some new clothes but there is always something that I need to buy for my DS instead. (Which is perfectly fine for me to be honest) I don't mind as long as my DS has everything he needs.

brendalee - 963 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Zero lol Once in a while if Im alone at Target or Walmart I might buy Monster (Monster is to me, what makeup is to a girly girl lmao) or clothes (another addiction). Or sometimes I'll order clothes online. Mostly I just like to blow our money on my daughter.

tylersmommy54 - 963 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) on myself it's 10 bucks or less a week,on the household it can easily be upwards of 50 bucks a week. i am a sahm but my husband gives me a lil$$ each week. i usually get a new nailpolish or i get a iced coffee but alot of times i use a lil to go garage saling and the rest to help with the household expenses. i don't really have much for bugeting tips as my husband handles our finances, except bills always first lol
