has anyone had a membrane sweep i will be 39 weeks 6 days at my next appointment and my dr is going to do a sweep i am worried because everyone i know who has had one said it hurts like hell this is baby number 5 and i have never had one always gone into labour on my own but there is no signs of this little girl coming please share your experiances with me

pumpkins23 - 961 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had one at one at 39 weeks and 4 days and i had my baby the next day. trust me the sweep will be nothing compared to to whats come...lol i dont think it hurt, more like a pap smear

wwatters18 - 961 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) lol, my dr. wanted to do to that to me when i was complaining of not going into labor. i went 42 weeks and had to be induced. i told him heck no to doing a sweep! ive heard it hurts like hell and he pretty much confirmed it when he said he didn't even want to do it in his office because he didn't want the other women hearing me scream! he wasn't joking either!

tylersmommy54 - 961 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had it done and my nails were dug into the exam table and i was about to cry,my dh ran over so i could squeeze his hand. not tryin to scare you but i wish someone had warned me ahead of time :) by the way it didn't work for me, i was induced a week later. good luck hun

jaydsmom - 961 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had one at 38 weeks and then at 39 weeks. It didn't hurt me too bad, just uncomfortable. What hurt was the cramping for the next day after it was over. It didn't work for me, although I lost my plug after the first one.

dorolyn - 961 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I also had mine stripped I was 39 weeks 4 days and it hurt like hell... BUT it did make me go into labor within 24 hrs. So I would reccomend it to any one! Good Luck!!!
