ok so bought rice cereal (beechnut not sure if it`s a good brand or not) but i am planning on having him try it soon. what am i in for where poop is concerned? i kinda want to be prepared for changes lol

happyforest - 959 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) beware of rice!! it constipates some babies. we had to use oatmeal instead bc it constipated him so bad. once we started the oatmeal everything was great!

bumbleguys - 959 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) His poop became slightly more solid and not as runny (haha).

juels101 - 959 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The poop begins to smell quite a bit more if you've been breastfeeding, as it doesent smell if you do. If your using formula there won't be a huge difference in smell, but in consistancy, more like a real soft big person poop heh

xolblondieox - 960 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I saw no changes, ever. Not until they started eating baby and table foods did their poops change.

diane-taketwo - 960 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My guy ended up with more solid poops. If you are breastfeeding, you will notice a change in smell. He might have some loose poops until his belly adjusts to having solids. Only give him a teaspoon or two at a time for the first few days, just to make sure he tolerates it well. It's when you switch to solids like fruit and pureed meat that you will notice the big change in poop texture and smell! Oh, and you might need some extra wipes for his little bum!! The change in diet might give him a little diaper rash - have a good rash cream handy just in case. :) Happy feeding!
