My Dr. recommends waiting a year so that your body has time to heal, and get back to what it was like before you got pregnant...he says that helps to ensure a safer/healthier pregnancy.

I should probably take my own advice, but the doctors usually do recommend a year or so between giving birth & conceiving to givce your body time to fully recover, YOU time to recover & if I remember right to decrease the risk of SIDS in the 2nd baby among other things. Granted your personal decision will have lots of other things to consider I'm sure! We got pregnant again when the LO was almost 8 months, & it's physically so hard chasing after a 13 month old this pregnant, but I'm excited that they will be close in age.

I would say three months at the earliest. That will make them very nice and close and you'll be nicely healed.

3 years :) My kids are 13.5, 9 and 20 months and the spread is PERFECT and SO much easier!! The soonest I would ever choose for a 2nd is when the first is entering school :)

My first two kids are exactly 15 months apart and it was sooo hard but now im thankful i did it cuz they play together all the time! I got pregnant with my second baby when my first was 6-7 months. Good Luck!

I know that we waited at least 4 weeks after our first was born to have sex, but we werent' trying to conceive. I will tell you that having a 19 month old and a 3 week old is exhausting, but I couldn't be happier. I think that you should do what you want as long as it is a healthy thing for your body:) Good luck!
