Am I in labor I lost my mucous plug

I have been cramping for couple days off and on and just lost my mucous plug and I feel the baby dropping but I`m only 31 wks pregnant, what should I do? I am also in another state visiting family right now.

Melissa21189 - 954 days ago Thanks to all for the advice, I went to hospital sunday and found out I was not contracting, I was just dehydrated, they put me on Iv fluids and I am now back home in Al.

juels101 - 955 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would see a doc and then head strait home, if you already lost your mucus plug that is a sign that labor is near (within weeks) usually. Go to a walk in clinic where you are and head er home to see your regular doc, is what I would do anyawys.

angela-and-jay - 956 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would be heading back to my home town and not extending my trip any longer than necessary... I dropped at 31 weeks with my first and ended up delivering her early at 34 weeks. I say better safe than sorry. You don't want to have a premature baby in a different state because you'll be stuck there until the baby gets out of the NICU in a couple months. :(

my.family - 956 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i lost mine at 32wks, and i asked my doc to check me, and she said i was a long way from going in to labor. many women actually lose their plug between 32-34wk and don't have their lil ones until term.

flowergirl0778 - 956 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If the mucous is red/pinky there is only 24hours before labour begins but if it is creamy/white, thats fine, you can lose it really early!!

summermum - 956 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Loosing your plug is nothing to worry about its common to loose it early, I lost mine at 33 wks. However I have a history of preterm labor, what you need to look for are having at least 5 contractions within an hours time, They hurt from back to front and feel like strong menstrual period cramps. Your plug can actually regenerate itself, if you have any contractions, notice any bright red bleeding or your water breaks you need to be seen asap. I had my first baby at 28 wks and I went into preterm labor at 34 wks with this one, Im currently 37 wks PG now.
