What is wrong with her?? Added: 953 days ago. Added by: brendalee Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
Something is wrong with my daughter and I`m trying to figure it out. She`s been drooling and biting on her hands nonstop FOREVER, that I`m not worried about. Then the last two days or so she`s been crying and being extreamly cranky which isn`t like her at all. I thought she was constipated because it always seemed like she was trying to go, and today she finally did and it was a lot and smelled awful...like a dead body, sorry for that bit of graphicness. Then she was still cranky after that and her temperature was 99.5 (by mouth, I was told to add a degree since it was by mouth which ment 100.5 and that was a fever) so now I`m back to thinking it`s teething again. She hasn`t been trying to chew on things really so Im confused as to what it can be. Any ideas on what it is?

teething can be accompied by ear ache and low grade fever. check with her pediatrican asap. in the mean time keep her hydrated and give her things to chew on until you can have her seen by the doc.

Sounds like teething.. I'd give some tylenol (()) When a baby is teeting it can cause ear pain too esp when lying down.

It sounds like she is teething to me hon. Try rubbing some baby orajel on her gums and letting her chew on a cold teething ring. My daughter ran a fever of 103 while teething and I took her to the pediatrician and he told me it was totally normal to run that high of a fever, she tugged at her ears too, which made me think Ear Infection but it in fact was her teething.

OK, you have a teething baby, but it sounds like she's not feeling well on top of it. I'd call the pediatrician and get advice from the nurse's line. Most important is to keep her comfy and keep her hydrated.

Sounds a lot like teething. Some baby's do get a fever while teething, and certainly hand biting and over fussyness. As for the pooping, maybe try giving her some prune juice or mixing puree'd prunes in with oatmeal or cereal, that will get her regular again.

breastfed? or formula? could she have put something in her mouth that wasn't good for her? I've dealt with a lot of fevers over the past 1.5 years, some came with teething (but mild) and others came with viruses and others came by themselves. Try to make sure her hands are clean if she's placed on the ground at all, you never know what she's touching- and it just gets worse as she gets more mobile. Otherwise, give her some tylenol for the fever, keep her cool and try letting her chew on some frozen washcloths. And see if she'd be interested in any teething toys- like a teething ring. My son LOVED a wooden teething ring by HABA toy company. It looks like a beavers been at it.
