I have the worst toothache. I went to the dentist and they want way to much money to fix it (root canal). Does anyone have any natural remedies to stop this pain? Its hurts to walk!

aprilraine - 950 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) getting it pulled is cheaper than a root canal. I don't want to scare you but I had an abscessed tooth that needed a root canal...within 3 days of having pain, the infection from my tooth spread from my jaw to the lining of my heart (Pericarditis) and caused me to have severe chest pains every time I moved, breathed, and swallowed. I didn't have enough money at the time for an $800 root canal (WITH INSURANCE) and paid $200 to have it pulled.

nutnut - 950 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i have bad teeth myself and yesterday i was in so much pain i was curled up on the floor. so i called the nurse hotline and they wouldnt give me any perscription they just insisted i find a way to have my teeth fixed "for the sake of the baby". i was in tears. i want my teeth fixed. i just couldnt afford it at the time bc i had no insurance. you will probably want to go to the er and get some antibiotics just incase its infected. did the dentist at least give you that much and some sort of pain pill? i had nothing so i suffered the entire night. here is what i typically do for my teeth. i will try hot water, or cold water (whichever makes it feel better as its different for differnt pain) extra strenght ambasol, and lots of tylenol. if you sit up or sleep with your head elevated it can help as well. they say you can use mint extract, ive not tried that. my nurse said absolutly NO motrin which is usually what helps me so i tried tylenol. if all else fails go to the er so they can get you antibiotics and pain meds. i feel for you bc i am always in pain with my exposed roots. good luck!

tylersmommy54 - 950 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) hun i had the same problem a year ago and i was given 3 options 1. do nothing 2. save it by root canal 3. lose the tooth lol do you have a low income clinic/dentist?

mom2twogirls - 950 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) unfortunatly if the tooth is infected you are going to need an antibiotic, tooth decay is something you dont wanna mess with it can send toxins into your blood stream and cause you to end up with heart problems and other bad things. Call around and see if there is a sliding fee scale anywhere near you.

Austin::and::Alexs::Momma - 951 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) is it abcessed? if so you need an antibiotic and once that kicks in the pain should subside for a little, but will eventually come back if not dealt with!

JACOBBS-MOMMY - 951 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Call 1-800-dentist they should be able to find a cheaper dentist in your area... haha I sound like a commercial.

Its-Chelle - 951 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i was told i needed a root canal, another dentist just gave me a filling but then a yr later i was in horrible pain again, needed the root canal after all. nothing helped the pain but antibiotics and getting the tooth taken care of. definately find a way to get it done if you can. i went through the pain twice, i feared getting it done and it turned out to be no big deal, it was like getting a filling. but depends on the tooth and dentist. i wish you luck, toothaches are the worst! call around, maybe theres someone who will take payments

mrsscorpio - 951 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I dont think there is a home remedy for a root canal. My co worker said a dentist told her the same thing but she went to another dentist who said she just needed a filling. Try another dentist for a second opinion. Try going to a dental school or one of those clinics who charge on a sliding fee scale, maybe it will be cheaper
