When is it appropriate to register for baby? Added: 952 days ago. Added by: jacquecmsu Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
This is our 1st baby, I come from a divorced family, and everyone keeps asking about it... I`m only 23 weeks... I`ve got some time, right? Should I get a move on it or, can I wait until the end of 7 months?

if they are asking, you should do it. then you wont get stuff you already have, or dont plan to use. my family is just now looking to see what i need and i'm at 33 wks.

i've always been told that you should register at LEAST a month before the shower.

My shower will be at 28 weeks. I wanted a early one to ensure we had plenty of time to buy what we needed that we did not get at the shower. I started registering at about 20 weeks. It is so much fun. Go ahead and start, you will have a great time with it. Good luck.

i found out i was pregnant, and pretty much regestered. i have family who live really far away though, and it's easier for them if they want to buy me things.

I registered at about 20 weeks, my baby shower was at 32 weeks, so I would have time to buy anything I didn't get at my shower.

I started registering online really early..just any time I had extra time. I had fun with it, adding a couple of items here and there.

If people in your life are prompting you to register, it might be a good idea to get a move on. Otherwise, they'll have no outlet for their generosity and they'll just guess and get you stuff that might not be what you feel you need. It's great that you have people who are excited about your new adventures.

I registered at about 18 weeks and about a month before my shower I updated so I didn't get two of things I already bought. Its not too early!

I registered early b/c everyone wanted to start buying stuff. Who was i to argue at people buying things so i didn't have to :-) So i went and registered (prob around 25 weeks). My shower wasn't until 34 or 35 weeks though. Plus it gave me time to adjust my registery, add and subtract as i needed to.
