Does anyone know if I can take pepto bismol pills for heartburn? It says to ask your doctor on the bottle, but they are closed and my chest is on fire! Thanks!

M2G - 947 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Absolutely NO. They are not safe while pregnant and can actually cause miscarriage. If you need to take something Immodium is safe.

novinsmommy09 - 948 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) no my dr said i couldnt. she said i could take mylanta or tums

tylersmommy54 - 948 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) when i was pregnant the doc said no to pepto

nutnut - 948 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) see my nurse said not to take the generic zantac or anything like that she gave a list. i didnt understand this bc with my first daughter my dr. said to take the zantac. i couldnt take the pepto even if it were allowed im actually allergic to it, it gives me a furry tongue soooo gross! you can try drinking milk. that was really the only thing that helped me with my daughter and i would get heart burn from just about anything including air and water! so i constantly sipped on milk. good luck!

jessberr31 - 948 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I took it before when I was preggo. But with this last pgncy I took some generic zantac in the morning and evening and it helped soooooooo much! Tums/Rolaids never worked and I was miserable through all of my first 3 pgncys, and when I joined this site a lot of ladies reccomended it and it worked so good! I could even eat pizza! Never could before! And I got it at the Family Dollar for like $3 for the generic, 30 pills 75mg ea. But if I had to take something and pepto was the only thing available I would deff take it, lol!

brittneydaneille90 - 948 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i was told to stay away from pepto, becuase of one of the chemicals that are in it are bad for the baby. The bottle and the pills contain the same chems

kaekae4 - 948 days ago Yeah I've heard that too. If our son is anything like me and his dad when he's born, he'll be lucky to have hair by the time he is 2!! =] I think the heartburn is more thanks to a Papa Johns craving I had to fulfill!!

LiveLoveLaugh - 948 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I did, I had crazy heart burn. To be honest, NOTHING cured it while I was pregnant. & they say if you have bad heratburn, the baby will have a head full of hair. I don't know how true it is, but my baby did! Lots!
