is it possible that your baby can come out looking like the mommy more than the dad and only have a couple of things from the dad like the same birth mark and personalities?? And if so will the baby start showing daddy traits as she gets older?? Cuz my DH wants to get a paturnity test cuz our daughter dosnt look like him really...he is Jamaican and I`m white and she came out light...will she get darker as she gets older?? She looks more like me right now bit she was just born on July 7th!!! Has this happened to anyone else?? Please help me...I`m so upset I`m breaking down cuz my DH wants a test!!! :-((

laurenGallegos - 946 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my sister in law is married to a jamaican man as well and they have 2 daughters, The first one came out white and looks exactly like her mother nothing like the father her 2nd daughter came out dark and looks nothing like her mom. hope that helps

I am sorry that you are going through this. My brother and sil are afrikan american. They had a little girl that was very light in skin color and had light gray eyes. The nurses were staring at both parents trying to find similarities and they found none. Family, thought that the baby looked just like dad. 8 years later she looks like mother and father. Some men feel this way when the baby doesn't look much like them. I remember my health teacher said that it took him a long time to confess to his wife that he thought one baby wasn't his. He was too ashamed to accuse her. Again, both afrikan american and this baby came out light, red hair and very light brown eyes. The child didn't begin to look like him until he was an adult. Genes are funny, they can do whatever they want to do but don't be discouraged. You know what is the truth and all you have to do is show it to him on paper. After that, request or demand counseling. You don't want your feelings to turn bitter.

sewagner - 946 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had a friend that had had two children with the same dad who was african american and she was white...the girl was dark..with dark curly hair and brown eyes..the boy was white as white can be with blonde hair and blue eyes...as they got older you could tell both mom and dads traits in them both...but they are so different.

But I think that she will get darker and so does my family....so I guess we will just see

RobinG - 946 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Get the test to prove for his peace of mind then remind him of how his lack of trust is now a bigger issue and that he has been hurtful to you for putting you through that and he best straighten up beucase if he did some research he would know that MANY babies dont look like the parent. Babies OFTEN dont look like the mom or dad. Both my sisters have kids that dont look like the dad at all and they are. All three of my kids look like me and it is common for babies born lighter to darken as they get older. Many mixed babies have turned out very light.

uhoh-impreggo - 947 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Just do the test. Think of how it must feel to be a man- the fact is people DO cheat and they DO stick babies on men that aren't theirs. I am in an interracial relationship as well and told my sweetheart as soon as I told him I was pregnant that he could have a paternity test when the baby came but DO NOT deny my child unless that test gives you a reason. The baby is 100% his, and if he wants to confirm that I think it is his right. It's stressful for us but they deserve the peace of mind, and your child deserves to not have 'I don't know if she's even mine' come out of daddy's mouth every six months and whenever he wants to hurt you.

Our friend is also african american and his two sons are so light colored. It can happen. I feel so bad for you. That is so heartbreaking that he would want that.

With black babies you are never sure what skin tone they are going to have until almost adulthood. I changed colors about three times myself and we do often come out light skinned and darken up over time. so just think your baby is mixed so she is definitely going to come out light and may or may not darken up over time your genes may have just been stronger than his

Their son is 4 now, and he is blonde, blue eyes and fair skin just like my family. I think DH has been watching too much TV..........

Just a couple days ago he said omg she has my scar yeah she is deffently my little girl and now he saying that he dosnt look like him at all but my family thinks that she will get darker as she gets older and I think that to!!! It upsets me that he wants to get a test...but I guess if I have to I will cuz I have nothing to hide and I don't want him thinking that I do....I Love Him to Death and I know that's his little girl!!!! She has her daddys personalities like sucking on her tounge...I can't even do that and I have tried but he can...I'm soooooooooo upset!!!!!

The dad got very upset and requested a paturnity test, it did come back to be his. My friends daughter is now 8 months old and is very dark, she gets darker every month. So just because they come out light doesnt mean they wont get darker!

nutnut - 947 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you can tell him, my friend had two daughters 3 years apart mom is blue eyed and blonde, white, pale skin. the father of both daughters is very dark african american. both of those girls have blonde hair blue eyes and are light skinned. also, alot of babies will come out lighter skinned at first and change as they get older. they can even be blue eyed and then their eyes change to brown later on. i dont know why he would be such an ass to you. after he puts you through all this, then what? when the test comes back he is the father, is he going to expect you to just forgive him and carry on. i would be hurt too. unless you have given him a reason to question things, i would seriously be questioning staying with him baby or not.

Shes about 4 months now and people have been saying she looks like her dad now. So I would just give it time.. She probably just has more of your traits.

happyforest - 947 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) omg what an ass!! as if u arent stressed enough with just having a new baby. a baby gets 50% from u and 50% from DH, but you have to remember to factor in recessive traits too, and all the other confusing things about genetics. just bc mixed babies usually tend to be darker, doesnt mean they all do! have u cheated on him at all, or do you know for sure its his?? it is totally possible that the baby can look more like you!!
