2nd degree perineal tear, ouch!!

Hi short question i need answered from those who`ve had a 2nd degree tear during vag delivery, i gave birth 8 days ago and was wondering how long does it take to stop burning while urinating?? I know it takes 2-3 weeks til the stitches heals, so was just wondering when the stinging stops or starts to ease?? Thanks in advance

mylittleman - 937 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hey I only had a 1st degree w/ 2 stitches but I also had a small surface laceration..like a skinned knee except down there! It hurt soooo bad. I went to the doc 4 days after I delivered b/c I was hurting so much. They gave me a lidocaine gel to apply. OMG, lifesaver! It took away the pain and I was able to walk in a somewhat normal way! Using the water bottle while peeing helps alot too. Ask about getting some lidocaine!

jennymomof3 - 938 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Yes the hospital sound have givin you a spray bottle to keep next to the toilet so you can spray warm water down there while you urinate. That helps the burning. It could last awhile, it has to heal. I had 3rd degree with my first born and it was sore for awhile.

hollie4liam - 938 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) hi there, i had quite a bad tear when i had my little boy. you've probably been told this but my midwife told me to drink loads of water to dilute your urine, have a little jug by the loo and poor water on yourself as you wee-or easier just take wees in the shower (sounds gross but didn't sting at all in the shower) i think it took about 10 days to 2 weeks to stop or ease stinging. hope this helps and congrats, take care, x
