What does a contraction feel like - even a BH contraction?

I`m 33wks 4 days, and I still don`t think I`ve felt any type of contractions at all. Of course, I also don`t know what I`m supposed to be feeling, since this is my first. Is there any way I`d be mistaking BH contractions for baby movement? Or is it more of when you feel them you`ll know? I know I`m not supposed to be having ACTUAL contractions yet, but I thought it was normal for women to start having BH contractions earlier. Any input on this? Thanks

my.family - 935 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) everyone has BH for their entire pregnancy-some just have stronger BH than others. i don't think many ladies mistake BH for fetal movement. it is possible that the baby may move due to a BH. a contaction is like the worst PMS cramp you can imagine! it makes your tummy tight, and BH sometimes it can even take your breath away (well atleast for me that is) now both BH and regular contractions dont really hurt-they are just really uncomfortable. don't worry when you are in labor-you will know.

LilyPants - 936 days ago There's some times when the top of my tummy will get hard - but I think it feels like the baby is there, esp since it's not the whole part of the tummy, just like the right side, or part of the middle, or the left....I was mainly wondering if BH contractions would do that, or if it was the baby just hanging out up at the top...

nutnut - 936 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) BH belly gets tight, it wasnt really painful but i was aware of them. contractions werent bad either, until they broke my water and induced me then they were like the worst period cramps ever.

chrissy-511 - 936 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had been having BH contractions & didn't even realize it bc i didn't know what they felt like. It's just when your belly gets hard and tightens for a few secs-mins. It doesn't hurt me, but i've heard others say it's uncomfortable. My belly was hard one day & i was like 'oh it's a BH contraction' :)

sweetbabyboy - 936 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I didn't have any braxton hicks contractions with my first, the first contractions were at 38 weeks when I was in labor!! my second pregnancy I did have braxton hicks, to me sometimes they felt like the baby was balling up and my whole tummy would go really hard, but don't worry if you don't get them not everyone does.

I think you will def kow that its a BH contraction compared to your baby moving. i rememeber when i was 9 months in labor, in the hospital i felt the first 2 contractions dunno wat kind of contraction lol but... omg! they hurt! ouch! and i dint wait long to request the epi.
