RICE CEREAL???

OKAY SO I STARTED LAILA ON RICE CEREAL AT 3 MONTHS AT FIRST SHE WAS EATING 3 TABLESPOONS...NOW SHE HAS NOT BEEN GETTING FULL OFF OF JUST 3 TABLESPOONS..SO I UPPED IT TO 1 OZ. SHE STLL WASN`T FULL AND NOW SHE IS EATING 2 OZ AND IS FINALLY FULL I DON`T KNOW WHAT TO DO OR IF THIS IS TOO MUCH?? SO MY QUESTION IS HOW MUCH IS YOUR BABY EATING AT 4 MONTHS OR WAS YOUR BABY EATING AT 4 MONTHS I REALLY DON`T WANT TO OVERFEED HER YOU KNOW?? SO CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT THANK YOU!!!

LailasMommy - 932 days ago Okay i am only feeding her off the spoon with two tablespoons of cereal then her milk after i figured it out and i will never out it in her bottle only cause i was told not to and im not Tetubg to feed her just cereal sorry for ever asking ugh

jennymomof3 - 932 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I never measured...I mixed it in with the formula at that age so it couldn't be too thick and I made an X in the nipple.

nutnut - 932 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i didnt feed mine just cereal as a meal. i gave her a little bit off the spoon, then gave her a bottle as well. she just needed a little bit of heaviness in the bottem of her belly along with the formula. i also made the cereal with formula. too much rice cereal will or could constipate i would be leary of how much you give her at this point. i started the small amount of cereal off the spoon at 6 weeks i believe. i couldnt tell you how much maybe a few tablespoons at at time bc i didnt use the bottle my dr. said not to feed cereal through the bottle so i didnt. she took it off the spoon so thats how we did it. was a little messier and more time consuming but was fine. i only ever gave her cereal during day time feedings like what would be breakfast, lunch, dinner, the feedings in between were just formula that already had added rice to it.

LailasMommy - 933 days ago thank you yeah i'm actually gonna just feed her 2 tablespoons of cereal and then finish up with milk...yeah i chose to feed it to her she does great!!!

xolblondieox - 933 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My babies' cereal was made by mixing 3 scoops cereal and 3oz formula. I don't know how many oz that comes out to be? Anyways, they got that twice per day at 3 months of age (morning and night).

RobinG - 933 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would stick to one oz total then finish the feeding time with a bottle. that is what I always did. You shouldnt rely on the cereal tobe the only "food" at that meal. I always fed cereal and opped off with milk :) I DEF wouldnt increase any cereal. She is supposed to fill on milk, not cereal. Many dont eat any cereal til 5-6 months and it is only for practice so increase her milk. She is growing and will increase her needs when she has growth spurts which happens at 4 months so just up her milk not cereal :)
