jumpingbean - 930 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I worked in a daycare during my pregnancy and my doctor gave me a note stating no lifting. That was none at all and as I got farther along I was not to push a mop around, vacumm etc. That's partially because I lost two prior and also because I got pre-e

nutnut - 930 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my dr. gave me a note in the beginning with my first bc i had to unload trucks once a week (i was retail mgr). the note said 35lbs or less, then when i got further along, she changed the note to say 15lbs or less. i just carried a 35lb bag of dog food into the house today. im also used to lifting my 53lb daughter, which i dont do right now at all. she understands i cant carry her or piggy back her until the baby is born. i would say if youre not used to lifting just dont do it. i have no choice i have no one to help me. im out weed wacking and mowing my lawn too. i do all the grocery shopping and bring all the stuff into the house and put it away. just be careful. if you can avoid it, avoid it, get help. better safe than sorry. im just very used to lifting things.

mama2be12.31.09 - 931 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i think your just not supposed to lift more than what your are acclimated to , lifting kids moms are used to that but someone like me who doesnt have kids and doesnt do it every day, may find it a lot harder! so nothing more than u did pre preggo i think

happyforest - 931 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) no, i worked at a daycare while preg so i was lifting 20+ lb kids all day. and it isnt so much a risk to the baby as it is to you. your muscles and joints are looser during pregnancy, so it is easier to hurt yourself while lifting.

christina-ann - 931 days ago Lol!! Well you know how it is.. your first pregnancy.. Everyones watching you , telling you do this, dont do that.. be careful with this... blah blah blah. lol. It's turned me into an extremely paranoid person! lol

abbyquiet - 931 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) lol i hope 20lbs isn't too much, my 19 month old weighs something like 26lbs and i still have to lift him

christina-ann - 931 days ago lol my doctor rushes me out of his office all the time. my visits are like 8 minutes long hehe.. i always have a million questions, but he's always all kinds of busy.. or so it seems. anyways my pregnancy is low-risk.. no complications at all... so..i guess my laundry basket is A-OK :) thank you!

mariettap - 931 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Do you mean, in general, how much is a safe amount to lift when you're pregnant? Or do you mean restrictions due to a specific condition or risk on top of an ordinary pregnancy? For ordinary well-woman. low-risk pregnancy, just listen to your body. If it hurts, don't do it. As the abdominal muscles stretch to support the belly, they can put up with less, and you'll know it if it's too much. If you have a high-risk condition your doc will be all too happy to spell out exactly what restrictions you need. They like to cover their butts, if you kwIm.

christina-ann - 931 days ago Oh okay good. because everyone's making me feel comepletely useless. @0 pounds is nothing to me, at all. before weighing the laundry basket i was sure it was under 10 pounds. I'm not a tiny girl either.. Thanks a lot.. now i can do my laundry without someone to help! lol

mathew102508 - 931 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think they say 20 lbs is the most you are suppose to lift, But it really depends if you can handle it or not. Wear i worked i was liftin 50lbs boxes before and during my whole pregnancy, because my body was used to it, and i never felt like anything was wrong.
