Hello my sister had my niece on june 17 she wasn`t suppose to be due until sept 5 .What is her correct age its really confusing can I go to a website or something to track her age so next year on june 17 she won`t be one how old will she be please help me im so confuse with the whole thing .

nutnut - 930 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) she will turn one june 17th, but will probably be behind in "milestones" by the 3 months she was born early. they catch up fairly quickly once they get going. but her birtday is the day she born, and will be every year =)

xolblondieox - 930 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The 'lapse' in age is referred to as "adjusted age". I had preemies too. They were boen at 36 weeks gestation...or one month early. Their 1st birthday will be their birth date, January 16. However, they are 6.5 months old right now, but their ADJUSTED AGE makes them 5.5 months old. What this means in reality is that I cannot expect them to develop like a full term baby would. Therefore I compare them to 5.5 months olds, not 6.5 months olds. Your sister will be doing the same, but with a 3 month diffference. Most preemies catch up by the time they are 1-1.5 years old. Hope this is clear...it confused the hell out of me too :-/

my.family - 930 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) so she was born at 28/29wks gestation. wich means her correct age (the age she is supposed to be according to her due date) is actually 35/36wks. Next year on June 17th, she will be a year old no matter what her due date was. its just she will be about 3 months behind on her milestones. and to she will be one month old on July 17th, 2 Months old on August 17, 3 months old on September 17....and so on.

EllaG - 930 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) She'll still be one year old on June 17 2010, but her milestones may be closer to those of a nine month old. She might start crawling/walking/holding her head up etc later than had she been born at full term
