Has anyone who has had their membranes stripped found that ir helpped them go into labour or was it a waste of time?

With my 2nd my obstetrician stripped my membranes on thurs and I went into labor on friday.... the contractions were not regular until saturday and I went into the hospital at noon dilated to 5cm.

mylittleman - 927 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Well I think it helped me a little...either that or it made me miserable for days until I actually went into labor. Guess I'll never know. I had mine stripped on a Thursday and starting that evening had very strong cramps. I had contractions consistently from Friday until Monday evening when they were finally close enough together and getting stronger that I could go into the hospital! So I had the absolute worst 4 days ever! I couldn't walk because i would start contracting, even sitting I had at least 2 an hour. So I don't know if it was the stripping that made me go into very slow labor, or if it gave me 4 days of hell and then I went into labor on my own during that time.
