I still swaddle my son, he will NOT sleep without it. If he gets out of his swaddle he screams until I wrap him back up... I`m kind of worried that he`ll be two years old and need me to wrap him up for him to sleep. And yes I`ve tried the one arm out thing and he screams bloody murder the first time he slaps his face. I just dont know what to do if I swaddle him he sleeps 8-10 hours if I dont he sleeps like its a nap 1 maybe 2 hours at a time... should I be worried?

nicnmicsmom - 925 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) He will eventually grow out of it. Every baby has their own personality and your boy likes to be snuggled when he sleeps.....I'd just enjoy that uniqueness about him.

nutnut - 926 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) buy him a special blankie with like a teddy bear attached to it that cannot be swaddled around him. see if it helps. i wouldnt worry too much. i remember my mom tucking us in really tight at night growing up (i hated it felt trapped lol) but my brother wasnt happy if he wasnt tucked in good and tight. i would say just keep doing it. then make it looser and looser over a period of time, once he gets bigger and goes into a big boy bed, you can always tuck him into bed rather than swaddle. i think he will eventually grow out of it. my daughter has to have her head under her blanket to sleep. each kid is different. same with adults, some adults have to have their sheets tucked in at the sides and bottem to sleep, while others cant stand feeling trapped. =)

xolblondieox - 926 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You just REALLY need to practice with him during the day. Entice his startle refelxes by lifting him up from a laying flat position by his arms, holding him upside down/on a steep incline (nothing dramatic!), place him in noisy areas/make loud noises, etc. He needs to be exposed to these things repeatedly in order to overcome startling. My babes are the same age as your LO and they're rolling over both ways and nearly crawling...they'd freak if I tried to swaddle them. Heck they freak if I hold them too tight LOL.

mamalvs4 - 926 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i wouldnt be worried, untill my kiddo got real control and figured out he liked moving and grabbing his toes he was the same way, im sure hell grow out of it soon
