hi i saw my doc today after learning my baby is a week ahead of schedule, wondered about my due date change up to dec 25th instead of the 31st, she said nope, plan on being pregnant until jan 15th!! what?? i didnt know they really let women get that far nowaday, i thought induction was common ater due dates, does anyone have more info on being able to go to 42 weeks, sounds terrible!

trkrchk - 923 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My first daughter was 42 weeks and 2 days :( But only because he was a complete dumbass and didn't even do a NST till 42 weeks, and it was ONLY THEN that he noticed she was breech. So now, with a big baby and over due..=c-section. So yeah it can happen. Some Dr's think that as long as the baby is happy they can stay there. I tend to notice these are guys and have NO idea how we feel at 40 weeks pregnant. Good luck!

nutnut - 923 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my dr. said no one is pregant past 42 weeks at their facility. they will induce you before then. with my daughter, i always measured bigger than i was by a good week, however my due date was july 4th, i didnt have her until july 10th i got induced july 10th. i was only 6 days over due.it depends on the dr. and the reasons for inducing.

nicnmicsmom - 923 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) There's no reason to change your due date. When they check the baby via ultrasound, etc, they're measuring the baby and the computer spits out a date based on that. It's really meaningless. And NO, you should not go past your due date. The viability of the baby drops off after 40 weeks and it becomes equally bad to deliver late as it does too early.

happyforest - 923 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) they wont change the due date unless it is over 2 weeks off. i doubt you will make it to 42 weeks....and if you are over due, they will continue to monitor you to make sure the placenta is still working and that your fluid levels arent falling. so if they are, they will induce, if not, you should be ok!! good luck i know those last few weeks suck!

juels101 - 923 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was two weeks overdue with my last baby, she was 10lbs 12oz, it was pure torture. If they are going to make you wait longer I would honestly get a second opinion or try with your current doctor to make them induce you sooner, that is not cool!!! I'll be making sure they iduce me ON my due date, because I'm always late and there is no way I'm letting them make me go that far again lol. Not to mention I have a condition that keeps me from laboring myself, so you more than likely go into labor yourself sooner anyways <3

RobinG - 924 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Rarely will you make it to 42 weeks anyhow so not even something to concern over. Most who go way over due go only about 7-10 days. But yes in my town they will let you go til 42 weeks, past that no.
