hi,im 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby and i was just wondering when you have your first scan? and how many weeks do you have to be to find out what sex your having? thanks

mama2be12.31.09 - 921 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i am not high risk i had my first u/s at 7 weeks. my sis got hers at 6 weeks and my friend just got her first at 9 weeks, so it depends on the doc and how soon you find out your preg. if they do u/s often enough ive seen girls find out as early as 13 weeks(not accurate) but more accurate at 16 weeks, most women in the u.s. cant get it until 18-20 weeks . i got mine at 19 weeks, found out i was 20 weeks, so its all up to the doc you go to, good luck! congrads on baby

jastinel - 921 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) unless you are high risk they will not do a scan until later in your pregnancy,usually you get to know the sex of the baby around 20 weeks

sara23 - 921 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I live in Mexico and I have a doctor's appt once a month and they do an ultrasound at every appt. My first ultrasound was at 6 weeks and then every month from there. I love being able to see her every month. This is my first baby so I am not sure how they do things in other countries even though I only moved here 9 months ago. I found out the sex around 17 weeks I think...

last.one.for.me - 921 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Ladies, this lady is from the UK so it doesn't work the same way as in the US.. her first scan will be between 12-15 weeks UNLESS there are any problems crop up earlier, she'll then have an anomaly scan at 20 weeks where the gender can be determined.. Also, she wont see a doctor, she'll be seen by a midwife unless there is a serious medical need for a doctor to see her - and only if it can't be dealt with by the midwives..

RobinG - 921 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You need to ask yoru doc because I've learned on this site that every doc is different ~ in 95 my scan was done at 7.5 weeks. in 99 it was done at 7 weeks and in 07 it was done at 5.5 weeks. But I've seen some on here not get it for many weeks later. If you plan to have the NT scan it must be done by 14ish weeks.

juels101 - 921 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Some doctors are mean and make you wait until around 20 weeks to get your first ultrasound, and that is when you can find out the sex. Some, however, reaslise you really want to see your little miracle being created inside you and let you get one sooner hehe. Congrats <3

erin b - 921 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I'm in USA and I didn't have my first scan until 19 weeks, at which time I also found out the sex. It all depends on your doctor, insurance, and if there are any complications.

last.one.for.me - 921 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) In England you have your first scan at 12 weeks and then one at 20 weeks - which is normally when they identify the gener for you. However, in Scotland you have your first scan at 15 weeks.. So it could be totally different for Wales.. but it'll be between 12-15 weeks I should have thought :] x
