mitres[bebe]amor - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I want to thank all you ladies for commenting on my question! Unfortunately i request to have it remove because some women thought it was bashing which it wasn't but the comments became argumentive so i wanted to have it removed to help keep down on site drama! The original question was just a question about Age & Breastfeeding. & I was seeking opinions which didn't work out well!

.Cute - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Personaly, I don't know why you post this lol you see how these girls react to stuff on here when they don't like it which is a shame && That's why i don't bothering posting stuff its not worth the negativity girl. If i ever saw someone BF there child over the age of 2 in public ill report them for sure. But its nothing wrong with your question its just another one of them things they don't like your question so turning it into something big.

happyforest - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) how can you see a pic of ANY mom breastfeeding on here...i thought that it was banned now....???

RobinG - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Interesting that you deleted your post that was your own comment that was judging.. you wrote and I quote ""I think 2 years old is taking it way to far in my opinion and was shocked when i ran across these girls profiles with there 2 year old boy or girl hanging from there boob...very distasteful to me"" that is judging other moms profiles on this site and having an opinion of them that was expressed in a rude way on this Q&A. If all you wanted was an opinion on age you never would have expressed your opinion of moms on this site and how it is distasteful to BF at 2ish. Or you would have ended it by saying that 2 is to far for you... but you added the rest and that is where it became a rude judging comment. Next time dont add your opinion about moms profiles you have viewed on this site, then it will not be viewed as bashing. TX last.one.for.me hugs(())

jastinel - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) hi,i personaly only breastfed my son and i did this til the age of 1 1/2,sure a couple of times i was going to stop only because he was bitting ,but i felt bad and had to teach him its not nice to bite mommy and then he listened,at 1 1/2 i tryed to breastfeed him and he just did not want it anymore ,if you feel confortable enough do it as long as they want its so rewarding for you and your child, the bonding is great to this day my son who is 28 months old is still so close to me and that is the best thing a mom could feel with there child

megandgrace - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Whenever they feel is a good time for a child to stop. No one else's place to judge on how long you should or shouldn't breast feed your own child.

last.one.for.me - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Sounds to me like you're bashing mitres[bebe]amor - it's like you're trying to drum up support for YOUR opinion, you're not really interested in peoples comments if they disagree with you, you just try to reinforce your opinion on them as if you're trying to convert them to your way of thinking, and of course, you seem delighted when someone is already of the same mind as you.. Otherwise, you'd have just let people post their own comments and you'd have read them and quietly contemplated them and drawn your own conclusion - you just seem to be dragging it out.. No matter how many times you claim you're not 'bashing or judging' - it's only serving to proove further that you are by what you have written. You know when someone drunkenly slurs at you, ' I'm not drunk..' - well, 99.9% of the time they ARE drunk.

bellamami.xo - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) IMHO .. I think past 2 is a little much. Especially in public, not that Im against public breastfeeding, I just think 2 is a toddler and it can because more distracting that way.

mommy-ofa-boy - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i agree with one i plan on stopping then or maybe a little before, i personally (not bashing) dont like to see an older child like 2/3 being bf in public but that is a personal opinion i just think its a bonding issue when that far along. anyway i think i had gotten werided out about it because i had went to a bf support group with a friend and a 2yr old child walked up to his mother unbuttoned her shirt removeed her boob and suckled it like a bottle with both hands while standin and she was perfectly fine but i myself would feel violated and think that it goes too far in some cases (like the girl on dr phill who was allowing her 8yr/11yr old (cant remember) to bf off the milk supply for her 2yr old)

RobinG - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I can read VERY clearly ~ I am not referring to your question, I am referring to your comment you made... Scroll down and read your post ~ ""I think 2 years old is taking it way to far in my opinion and was shocked when i ran across these girls profiles with there 2 year old boy or girl hanging from there boob...very distasteful to me."" Saying that the profiles you've seen on here "is very distasteful" IS bashing ~

RobinG - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) There are many things that we will agree and disagree on on this site. BF isnt for me from 1-2 years old but I think it is mean for you to publically post and judge and say a mom who BF a 2 year old is being distasteful. This site if FULL of moms from all over the world AND cultures so you need to keep that in mind when you post on this site and say that. If you cant say something nice, dont say anything at all. If you were referring to a mom here BF a 6 year old thats one thing but not a 2 year old. just becuase it isnt what you agree with or where you live it isnt common doesnt mean that is the way it is all over the world.

RobinG - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) On this site I have seen 1.5 to 2 to be fairly common. In my town and my family most who BF only did it til 6-8 weeks when they returned to work. I do know some who BF til 6 months or so. I personally think when the child is 2 and you are still BF its time to stop. I see nothing wrong with BF til 2 although its not for me, I personally wouldnt choose to BF past 12 months.

courtenay - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) most children are not still breastfeeding at 6 years old. but if the child and mom are still comfortable with nursing i dont think anyone has the right to judge or be critical.

tommiesmommy - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think a breastfeeding mother and child should stop when the child no longer wants to breastfeed. It really shouldn't be anyone's business as it has no effects on anyone else.

courtenay - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i wanted to add, that lots of people think its weird to nurse an older baby, like over a year, for some 6 months is the most they can handle. some people stop when the biting starts (i am currently struggling through this again :(!!!) but it really is a personal decision and i wish people werent so critical and judgemental about extended breastfeeding. it has a ton of health benefits for baby and mom. i think that BF say a 7 year old is taking it to the extreme but who am i to judge? Just because I wouldnt do it and am not comfortable with it doesnt mean its "wrong". Breastmilk is the most natural thing for a child to drink. Humans are the only species who drink the milk of another mammal (cows) or drink artifical milk (formula)

courtenay - 920 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) well, the WHO recommends thaht a child be breastfed until the age of 2 and beyond, with exclusive BF being done for the first 6 months. http://www.who.int/topics/breastfeeding/en/ That being said, my personal opinion is that BF is natural. It is what boobs were made for and I believe a child should be BF for as long as the mother and child want to. I am still BF my daughter, who will be 10 months on the 13th. I plan on BF her until she self weans. She is very attached to the boob, but I am hoping she self weans somewhere between 1.5 and 2 years old. But would be willing to BF her up until 2 and a half or so.
