Any of you have one that travels for work and is away for nights at a time? How do you cope with it? My fiance recently got a job where he travels all over the state and surrounding ones as well and leaves Monday morning for 4 days! I don`t know what I`m gonna do and it just seems like this job is gonna ruin our relationship.

sheework - 916 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My b/f and I did long distance for 2 years then he was home for a year then traveled for work for the next 2 he would leave Monday morning come home Wednesday night, leave then back again for the weekend. Distance is hard but after a while I liked the break, I found lots of things I liked to do alone, I spent more time with friends and family. I loved the fact that we got to talk on the phone again it was nice to have hour conversations. It does sucks but the homecomings make it so much better! Distance does make the heart grow fonder. It will only ruin you if you allow it to.

When he's back in town do family things, spend as much time tigether as possible. When he's gone talk to him on the phone or text. Good luck I hope everything goes well. After this job my DH says he will NEVER take an out of town job again. What a relief since mt babies will only be 17 months apart. :)

Thankfully it has ended today :) But he was gone Sunday night through Thursday night!!!! 5 days alone with my DD and working mon-fir 8-5. It wasn't easy doing everything by myself, but I git use to it. We text or IM each other like GOD i dunno at least 20 times a day and talked on the phone at night.

There isnt any other option, and I feel that the homecomings make the relationship that much stronger, its like falling in love all over again..
