Has anyone else`s little one gotten impetigo in their diaper regions? I feel so bad for my daughter, she is 15 months and has had a few diaper rashes here and there but never anything serious until this past weekend. I finally got her into the doctor today and its impetigo! Poor thing has to be on antibiotics for 10 days and has two different creams. I`m just wondering if anyone else has seen this...I know its super contagious and I`m way paranoid about it spreading to other family members. I know one of the best things you can do is leave her without a diaper but I dont want the open sores seaping everywhere she sits so I`m putting some light cotton shorts on her without a diaper...any tips out there? Do you know how long this lasts? Thanks for any input. I have no idea how she got this :(

rickettsrules - 916 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hi there, I had impetigo when I was a kid, it went around our school and I remember having the sores between my legs and feeling yucky. It lasted for about a week. You're right, light cotton pants are the best to stop the spread and also to stop your legs from rubbing together and irritating the sores further. Poor little thing!
