What does labour feel like?? Added: 911 days ago. Added by: xXxEXPLOxXx Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
Hi, I`m 22-weeks pregnant (not viable for another 2-weeks), and am petrified of late-miscarriage of premature labour. I got more frightened when my mum said her contractions felt like `period pains`, which I get from time to time, so I thought I`d post my question here!! Thanks. x

yeah i felt crampy all through my pregnancy and didn't worry about it because i read in so many different books that it was normal. i was induced so i guess i can't say what real labor feels like, but the cervix dialating was really really uncomfortable; i was sweating and squirming around in my bed all night with back pain and cramping, but even so it was not unbearable. By the time I was at 10 cm i'd had an epidural and had zero pain. when i was pregnant everyone always told me "you'll know". i hope u are not at risk of premature labor, but if you aren't, and doc is saying u are fine, then i'd suggest you not worry and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!! best of luck

i get cramping from time to time. labor pains are not the same as this cramping. labor pains to me was period cramps times a million. there is also alot of pressure and it made me want to push. when i have period cramps i dont typically have that pressure or feeling of needing to push.
the cramping you are most likely feeling it just streching and growing of your uterus. i get those and its like a burning pain. i also get back pain too. good luck! =D

it feels like your insides are falling out of your vagina. i suppose period pains are an accurate comparison if you multiply the pain by about a zillion. it is the same sensation only worse and it does not go away, it gets worse and you cannot stand or walk and you want everyone around you to die. basically. a lot of times the cramping you feel early on is either just due to stretching or braxton hicks. these cramps can be strong and if you havent experienced labor before you may get concerned but i promise, you will know if its something to worry about! OUCH

labor feels like 1000 times worse than PMS. your belly gets sortta tight, you feel pressure down there, and lower back pain.
you are proabably feeling growing pains, you will have them for the most part of your pregnancy. and if its not growing pains, it could be Braxton Hicks contractions. they are prepare your body for labor, but don't worry, just because you have them now it does NOT mean your gonna have your baby soon. Us ladies started to have Braxton Hicks as early as 11wks, but often they are too weak to feel.

it's growing pains for sure! You and your baby are growing so your going to feel it. I wouldn't worry. Labor feels just like period oains but only 1,000 times worse. It's all tolerable and you will forget all the pain once the baby is out. But other then that I'm sure your fine. Do the other ladies in your week say they are feeling similar pains? if not they soon will. :)
