my little girl is 11 weeks old today, weighed 7lb 15 at birth and had a single umbilical artery, which didnt seem to affect her. anyway my concern is that she weighs 15lb 15 and is in 6 month clothes already. has anyone else got a massive baby??? im quite tall, 5ft 11 and her dad is 6ft 3. its just that people are so shocked when i say shes only 11 weeks old!!

My 2 year old was in 12 month clothes at 6 months. he was 9.5# at birth! He is very LONG. He is not fat in any way. He is now 2 years old & wearing 3t-4t clothes because everything else is too short for him!

I don't think that's massive. My twins were born premature, weighing 5lb 12oz and 6lb 5oz and by three months of age (12 weeks) they were over 15 lbs a piece :o) I was told that was great! They are not particularly tall...they are chubby and I love it! They were so scrawny at birth, but now they look so healthy and I'm proud of that. I love my babies chunky, it's the way they're supposed to be lol :-p

i'm 5'7", hubby is 5'11", and baby is now 27" as of today, he is really long for 4 months. he's going on 16 lbs. something tells me it might not mean a thing. tall, short average, it's all good. have fun with it; tell people she's 3 years old and see how long you can keep them going, tee hee

yes my son was like that only he started out big at 9 lb 5 oz. he is 9 months now and in 18-24 month clothes. his growth has slowed as he got older, but he is still large for his age. i love it, chubby babies are sooo cute!!!

m son was also the next size up in clothes. when he was 12weeks old (3months) he wore 6 month clothing. by the time he has 5 months old he was in 9 month clothing. and he was 9 lbs at birth! its normal.

my daughter never fit in newborn clothes even tho she weighed 7lbs10oz at birth. she was very long. her biological father is over 6ft tall. today she is 7 and is tall and thin, its just her body type. shes not underweight or overweight. but i remember when she was small, they would always tell me she was in this percentile or that percentile, and i would just say, forget the percents is she healthy? is there anything i should be concerned about? and when the dr. said no, she's fine, thats really all i cared about. she was always in bigger clothes bc of her length.i wouldnt worry, you have to remember baby will have growth spurts here and there. plus im guessing its alot to do with how tall she is, since you and dad are both tall, its in here genes to be tall too. i bet she's adorable =) more times then not, it more to concern yourself with if the child isnt growing or gaining enough weight. =)

Most babies wear clothing 3ish months larger then their age. (at 3 months wears 6 months clothes, at 6 months wears 9 months clothes etc etc..) And at 11 weeks she is nearly 3 months old so 6 months clothes is average. So that is def not an indication of a massive baby. And gaining 8 lbs in 11 weeks is DEF normal and right on track IMO. All my boys gained more then that actually, lol. Hunter was 8 lbs 7 oz at birth and by 12 weeks had gained 9 lbs. She is NOT massive in any way shape or form IMO :) Ignore those that are shocked, babies come in all sizes and she is def average and not massive. ((hugs))

You know what my previous answer was probably wrong, she is probably right on track, as the weight sounds like alot, it's really probably quite normal. Didnt mean to sound so retarded. Like I said sure she is ADORABLE .

Hi, I am not rying to be negative but, is she tall too ? That seems like a lot of weight for a bay that young. I had big boys, at 2 weeks they had gained 2 lbs etc, but I would speak to my doctor. Is she breastfed, or formula. Now that I think about it she is probably fine, porportion is important, if you height is growing as quick as her weight, I wouldnt worry, but if she is not growing in comparison to weight I would speak to the dr. Good luck, I bet she is the cutest thing ever.

She sounds a lot like my LO. I can't remember exactly how much she weighed at 11 weeks but she was definetly big ans around the size of your LO. Now she's 8 months old and 20 pounds. People still think she's older but she's definetly slowing on her growth.

Our little boy has always been pretty big, and now he's 8 months old and nearly walking! Me and my hubby are both tall too. I wouldn't worry about it though, as long as she's putting on the weight gradually and you know that she's eating well it's a good thing. You have a strong healthy baby!! : )
