I`m beyond done with being pregnant and am ready to have this baby but nothing is happening! I`ve heard that walking can help to get labor started but does it really? I live on a tropical island and it`s rather hot out so I don`t want to walk a ton while my thighs chafe and I sweat if it isn`t going to help... Has anyone found walking effective?

larryslady - 908 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Well I walked for about 4 hours( they were having this festival)and around 5 the next morning I went into labor. So I would say that it works!

femi - 909 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I walked about 2-3 miles on the 18th of last August which was my due date, felt like my mucus plug started to let out, and had my baby on the 20th of that August. Walking helps. But it works differently for everyone and my hunch is that it needs to be a lot of walking (like I did that day) or perhaps regular daily walking. It can't just be a trip to the local store and back or something ... at least that's my theory.

Its-Chelle - 909 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my doc told me i could walk as much as i want but it wouldnt help..lol and it didnt, not walking nor sex. my baby ended up overdue! but it doesnt hurt to walk, great workout! if youre chafing etc, dont over due it..no sense in making yourself more miserable

mylittleman - 910 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Ha, for me it made me utterly miserable yet I did it for 4 days until I was really in labor! It made me have HARD contractions every few minutes. But they would stretch out to every hour once I stopped walking. Looking back, I shoulda just rested and enjoyed my last few days of rest!!

Jaylynnes Mommy - 910 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I walked around all day the day before I had my little girl...I went shopping...I didn't have any pains or anything all day until about 2 in the morning.

hannahe - 910 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) im on the same page as nutnut. it does seem to help speed up labor progression if you are already in labor (hence all the ladies walking in the hospital hallways) but if it is hot outside i say stay in, it would probably just make you overheat and dehydrate...not good

M2G - 910 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Sex works. Lots of it!!! The sperm actually causes the cervix to thin out which will get labour going. Good luck!

angela-and-jay - 910 days ago I'm already 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced.

robing - 910 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Nothing at home for remedies starts labor sadly but if you are having early symptoms of dialation etc it will help to progress things along so unless your body has begun to start to prepare sadly it will not work :( If it does there wouldnt be babies born over due ((hugs)) Esp when you arent even due yet ~ ((hugs))

nutnut - 910 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i walked and walked for weeks and it didnt help me. the only thing that helped me ws pitocin =P
