Could be 4 days or 4 weeks. Once the uterine lining, and all the HcG it contained, have been washed away, the bleeding stops. How long to wait depends a bit on how you're feeling physically and emotionally, as well as the orientation of your care provider. Some patients and some providers are more conservative than others. When I hadn't waited as long as I thought they might have liked me to, my midwife's reply was, "Our patients are in control of their own fertility. Far be it from us to tell you when you can be intimate with your partner." She went on to explain that in most cases, the only reason they ask people to wait one complete cycle is to help with dating the onset of pregnancy so they can predict the due date more accurately.

It was on and off heavy and lite for 6 weeks though. My doc told me to wait until I had 3 normal periods before we started trying again. Also, continue prenatal vitamins the entire time until after the baby is born (thats what my doc told me and I had a very healthy little girl 3 weeks ago)Good luck!

jastinel - 909 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) hi ,sorry for your loss,i too had a natural miscarriage on jan 14,2009,what to expect, you may experience some crampping that is normal,i bleed for two - three weeks not heavy but its enough ,you will bleed heavy first then in a couple of days its slacks off to light to moderate bleeding, then it stops and you may get your period within a week to two weeks from then, well if this is your first miscarriage they say to wait til you get your fist period but i know some people who dont wait and get pregant within two weeks of miscarring,if you have had more then one miscarriage they say to wait at least 3 months ,but all in all its totally up to you and your husband when you feel the time is right ,may i ask at how many weeks were you when you miscarried i was at 10 weeks ,and in july 27th 2009,i had a missed miscarriage i again was 10weeks but said the baby died at 6 weeks ,again sorry for your loss

sheework - 909 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) DO NOT ttc until you see a doctor. Even with natural miscarriages you can still have tissue left over in your uterus. Also if you ttc to soon there is a risk of infection. The bleeding can last anywhere from 4-10 days it's different with everyone. The longest I bleed was 7 days. They usually tell you after one cycle you can ttc again. But talk with your GP first and see what they say.
