Yes, he is nutritionally getting enough from breastmilk alone. My 2nd had only breastmilk for a year. It's all they need!

Awe...I love big babies, I also have a chunky monkey :) Also strictly breastfed, although she's at an age where we are introducing purees to her...Either way, congrats on your healthy baby boy, he's handsome!

Some babies get really chunky when they aren't mobile yet! He will start burning calories and shed some of the baby weight when he's on the move!! Don't worry about it now..it's too early! :)))

Breastmilk is liquid gold! He is the weight he is supposed to be and yes breastmilk is enough plus much much more good stuff that formula can't provide!

well hes being breastfed which is better than formula because they stop when they are hungry and the breast only can produce so much. my son is 4 months and weighs about 17lbs too. just be happy he is healthy :) my son was 5 weeks early and was almost 9lbs lol

what i meant was i wouldnt worry if he's overweight, not that he's overweight to begin with, but at this stage its more important he is eating, and gaining sufficient weight and growing accordingly. i would worry only if he were under weight or failing to thrive in any way. sorry i wasnt saying 17lb is over weight at all. babies come in all shapes and sizes and have growth spurts at different times =)

i wouldnt worry about him being overweight right now. and its fine to give him just breast milk, nutricianally its all he needs atm. =)
