What are your opinions on donating your breastmilk? A friend of mine donates hers to a micro preemie baby and I am also giving her 60 ounces of my freezer supply tomorrow. I personally don`t see anything wrong with it but my fiance thinks it`s disguesting. So I`m looking for opinions on the subject. Thanks ladies!

juels101 - 901 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Honestly, it does creep me out a little bit, but at the same time, if I couldnt that might be something I'd consider. It's amazing women are willing to do that to not only give there children the best possible start, but to help other mothers who can't!!!! Though it does give me the heebiegeebies a bit, it is amazing and I am for it.

sweetbabyboy - 901 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think its a great thing to do!!

rickettsrules - 902 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Pfft, men! They're all the same, hahahahaha! Donating breastmilk is a wonderful thing to do; imagine how dissapointed you would be if you couldn't breastfeed after planning to, and how thankful you would be to have someone donate to you for the health of your baby. Premie babies especially need breastmilk to support their immune systems. Tell your fiance that you are potentially saving the life of an innocent baby!

happyforest - 902 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) um wow its disgusting for a baby to drink donated breastmilk, but not disgusting for them to drink milk from an animal not even the same species??? your fiance makes no sense lol. i think donating breastmilk is really nice of you, i know i would rather feed my baby donated breastmilk if it was available before i went to formula

vickiessecret - 902 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I don't think it's disgusting, if you have the extra milk why not donate it. I would do it..

mama2be12.31.09 - 902 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i think its great and awesome of you, something i couldnt do is actually breastfeed someone elses baby but donating seems like a great idea

smiling politely - 902 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) its not gross!! like jinx said, most people would have blood if they needed it, so why not milk? i was a few weeks late in investigating Bmilk donation, the only place that takes it near me has a policy where your own baby must be younger than 6 months, and mine was 6 months and 3 weeks :( so i still have a freezerful that i am planning to use for cooking.

jinx-marcell - 902 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Ask your fiance if donatng plasma or blood is "disgusting" Obviously he doesn't quite grasp the concept. Blood, plasma, food, if these things can be donated (and they are!) and used then why should a helpless infant have to go without? I think it's awesome what you're doing and I've thought about donating milk as well but I just don't make enough. Kudos.

kristina89 - 902 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i would donate breast milk if i could but i just dont get as much as i did when i first had my baby but i dont think its wrong at all go for it girl because that little baby needs it or a baby in need needs it

KateBick - 902 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) What a kind thing to do!

mommy-ofa-boy - 902 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i dont think its wrong, i thought bmilk is made specificlly for you baby but i think its awesome they even take donations for it

mariettap - 902 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Giving your very own, most nutritive product to support the life and ability to thrive of a fragile infant so that his/her mother may one day take this living child of hers home to join the family forever. Disgusting? I think not. I would be most grateful to receive your donated milk if my child were at such risk, and I would never forget you for it.
