naval piercing and scars

Hello, I have had my naval pierced for 3 months my hubbie bought it for me for summer time and I have just found out we are expecting again. I have taken the bar out do you think it will heal up before I start to stretch so I wont get that awful scar above my naval? I hear most people who have had or do have their naval pierced during pregnancy get a huge awful scar! please let me know what you think or if you have personal experience! Thank You!

laurenGallegos - 900 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) when i found out i was pregnant i took mine out, it didnt heal completly but it did not stretch and get all gross. i just got a tiny stretch mark in between where it was pierced. My best friend dannielle didnt take hers out till her belly started getting big and stretching and her piercing hole got super stretched out and gross looking..

julieisexpecting - 900 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think it's good you've taken it out because you can always get it re-peirced if you really miss it. 3 months is not long to have it pierced.... I had mine done for about 7 years and it started sealing up after 2 weeks of having it out. You should be fine! :)

lailasmommy - 900 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had mine pierced when i was 13 and when i got prego my body rejected it so now i have a horrible scar....but i dont think if you take it out before u get big u will have a horrible scar my friend didnt get one:)

MyLittleDanish - 900 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've had mine in for 11 years now....my body had started rejecting it at the very begining, so I already have a little scar, but I'm now 15 weeks pregnant and still wearing my ring! I keep an eye on it everyday. If my belly button starts popping out, I will take it out, if not, I intend on keeping it for as long as it's not forcing on the ring. Even if I do end up taking it out, I believe it will look the exact same after birth....I scar very very horribly and have come to term with that a long time ago. So another scar or mark doesn't affect me really!

jmama - 900 days ago Well it looks to me that it could either way! So I guess all I can do is wait! I got pretty mild stretch marks with my last pregnancy so I might get lucky, the bad thing is though I get keloid scars so most of my scars end up being alittle more tough of skin. Well thank you guys for all your input. I was crying to my hubbie last night (might be the hormones!) worried about it but I feel alittle better now. Thank You again ladies!

mdbabyno1 - 900 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I took mine out at 15 weeks and then was able to put it back in 6 weeks pp. Now scars but like someone else mentioned I didn't get streach marks either so not sure if that has anything to do with it

lily3488 - 900 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) when i found out i was pregnant, i took out my naval piercing right away hoping that i wont scar while i start to stretch. And now i notice i do have a scar with my stretch marks. I think it's depends if u get stretch marks or not.

emma32uk - 900 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i have had 3 children and had my belly button pierced with all 3. i went from a bar to a ring and didnt get any scaring or pain. saying that i have no stretch marks, so maybe its to do with the stretchiness of the skin!!!

sazauk - 900 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have my naval pierced and brought a bar especially for pregnant women, it is made of plastic and put that in quiet early on. That stayed in all through my pregnancy and my normal bar went back in after and it looks fine.

littlemissfatty!! - 900 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had mine peirced and have just taken the bar out at 34 weeks pregnant, i have no scar or mark and only took it out cos it was getting tight, the bar will begoin straight back in when i have had my baby :-D

I have two holes where the piercing use to be, I am waiting until I have this baby to see how it looks, but I can tell you it does not look pretty. I think I will have a scar.

jmama - 900 days ago I hope it does heal up fast. so I guess that leads to another question how can I let it heal up, put a band aid on it or what? Its a big open hole and I dont want it to get infected or anything.

nutnut - 900 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) mine is still open it grew out some and i have this weird scar. but if you only had the piercing for 3 months it should close up completly just leave it alone. you will probably still have a little scar from it. but i doubt it will be noticable as the piercing is still very new. if anything it should be the size of a pin hole or something. mine is bd bc it stretched out growing while i was pregnant.so the jewelery i had in it litterally was pushing itself out. if i try to put anyting in it now, its so close to the edge i feel like it will rip out. you shouldnt have that problem though bc like i said the piercing is still new.
