what r the odds of getting stretch marks with a second pregnancy if i didnt get ne with the first and gained 45 lbs with first preg?

Gigantor - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think part of if is genetic, but my mom had them will all 3 of us and here I am 35 weeks along with twins - second pregnancy (measuring 44 weeks at this point) and have none. I don't use anything special to lather myself with and I did not use anyting! with the first pregnancy. On the other hand I drink a lots of water to keep me and my skin hydrated from the inside. I don't know whether that helps, but I want to beleive it does some. Gradual gain weight is also important I think. This way your skin has time to adjust little by little. Good luck!

heidismummy - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it is all genetics. i know some women that go crazy with the cream and even diet to extremes and they still get them! they do say you show alot quicker second time round though so it may be that you stretch too quickly for there not to be a mark. try not to worry about them if you get them, they are love marks and usually signs of healthy women who havent starved themselves to try and get no stretch marks!

momsrock4 - 898 days ago thanks everyone! :)

alreadygot1 - 898 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Totally genetic. I lathered everyday, twice a day with my first and got a TON of stretch marks. I did not put any lotion on with my second and did not get one new stretch marks. Luck and genetics i guess.

tenacioust - 899 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) IT is genetic! IF its in the family more than likely you will get them. I didn't get them until I was 2 weeks from my due date and I used everything under the sun to prevent them. I swear though it seems like the second I bought that stupid palmers butter for stretch marks I got them. I didn't have a mark while I was using the bath and body lotions.

ladobruk - 899 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It's not so much how much you gain, it is how quickly you gain it. Stretch marks usually happen with rapid weight gain. I haven't met anyone that hasn't had some sort of stretch marks after their 2nd pregnancy simply because you get bigger quicker. If you aren't prone to them and if you get them they will likely be very minor and fade so you can barely see them.

momof2hopfully3 - 899 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) like mama2be said i think its genetics. Its from ur mother side mostly. If ur mom or grandmother didnt get strech marks then ur the lucky one not to get them.

sarahann - 899 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I asked the same question a while ago... I never got any the first time and hoping I won't this time either. Another lady on here said she didn't get them the first time, but is getting them the second time and puts it down to not having enough time to lather up in moisturiser every day.. good luck!

mama2be12.31.09 - 899 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i believe its mostly genetics so i would guess your pretty darn safe, but thats just imo
