i honestly want to know how many of u ladies actually drink 3 or more 2 litters of water? because my nurse told me that i need to drink at least 3 liiters of water a day. i cant do that, for 1 its makes me more dehydrated nd i seriously cant stand water. so i just been buying sprite and doing half water in a cup nd the sprite, its better then drinking just the sprite. so how much water do u ladies drink a day???

MarcieB - 896 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Listen to your body. When your thirsty, drink water. Trust me, after a while it will seem like the best thing in the world. I have never been a big water drinker but now I cant get enough. It will be your best friend when you start getting leg cramps and early contractions. You will be amazed at what a few glasses of water everyday will do to make your pregnancy more comfortable.

alreadygot1 - 896 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I drink about 80 oz of water a day not pregnant. You get used to it. I get cranky and have headaches if I do not drink enough water.

Debra - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you can also try EATING water as someone else pointed out- such as watermelon and other particularly juicy fruit and veggies.

Debra - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) have you tried crystal light? its a powder that can add flavour to water. I try to drink 2-3 Litres of water per day, usually end up with 2 at best. But it's important to prevent preterm contractions. Water also prevents fluid gain as it promotes osmosis and thus keeps fluid from building in your cells. Also, if you are breastfeeding, you need to drink fluids to make fluids. Sprite, while I'm sure tasty, is also full of sodium and potassium, too much sodium can make you swell up, and potassium in excess is not good for you, your heart or your baby. Sprite is also calorie laden and will make you gain much unneeded weight (hard to loose after!) diet sprite isn't much better if it's sweetened with aspertame- the long term effects of aspertame are unknown, but preliminary reports are showing many hazardous effects. Try to cut your water with something else if you can. A little Lemon juice in your water will also give you a nice flavour.

rickettsrules - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I drink at least 2 lires a day. Build yourself up. So if you drink three glasses a day, look in increase it to five glasses during the next week and more the week after etc. A good tip is to have a water bottle with you at ALL TIMES and take small sips all the time. that's what I do, and I know how much is in the bottle so I know how much I'm drinking. Good luck.

abbyquiet - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) drink it with a straw. when i'm not feeling like i want to drink water, i'll make myself a cup and chug the whole thing with a straw as fast as i can. the sprite, is a whole lot of empty calories. i'm sure if you keep up with the sprite, you'll be complaining in a few weeks about all the weight you're gaining. or maybe you can put a little bit of fruit juice in it. i personally dont care for much juice, or soda so i just drink water- but that is an option. i wouldn't cut it with much juice. just a little bit to alter the taste.

nutnut - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you can get water from other things so you dont actually have to drink that. i couldnt do it either im already bloated 24-7 i'd be so sick with all that water. eat watermelon, fruits, fruit juices, etc. and in between take a bottle of water here and there if you can. my dr. actually suggested that i take a shot glass, and every hour just fill the shot glass with water and drink it.

mathewsmommy - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) gosh when i was pregnant i was drinking 1 liter of milk and 8-9 water bottles of water....i was ALWAYS DRINKING. i had too!!! Have you try maybe crystal light, or juice...better then sprite i think. But you know whats best for your body and if sprite is cutting it then drink it.

m2b - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) No I don't drink that much water, as long a your fluid level is ok then you are ok , drink when you are thirsty, when you start to force it you will get bloated and feel sick I know i did. So just listen to your body it is your best doctor! :)

jastinel - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) when i was pregnant i drank 10 glasses faithfully a day of water, i knew i had to do it because it was the best for the baby and me

sheework - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) This is the first I have ever heard of water making a person more dehydrated, I would think it was the sprite doing that before I would the water. I drink water when I am thirsty, I am not a huge soda fan but will have iced tea from time to time. I get the cold brew bags and just put it in my water bottle.

abbyquiet - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) how does drinking more water make you more dehydrated?

coolnessa8 - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I agree with EllaG & Mama2b - you need the water, so expierment. & find a way to get it. My dr told me that dehydration can cause miscarriages, but I believe that would have to be a severe case. I have read a lot of your questions on here & on most of the answers the ladies have said you should try drinking more water. You body needs a lot of water right now & when you don't give it enough, it tells you by making you dizzy, tired & light-headed. Headaches are also a common sign of needing more water. The Sprite is not a good idea. There is a great deal of sugar in it & pop does not hydrate you. Also I do not think prego people should drink iced tea as it contains a lot of caffiene. I drink lots of water & Gatorade. With some effort & determination, I'm sure you can find a mixer (look in the crystal light isle at your grocery store - there are many to choose from) that tastes good to you.

EllaG - 897 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I used to find it easier to drink small cups of water (from a dispenser) and would drink alot more than if I kept a large bottle nearby, as I'd top it up when I was finished, rather than when I was thirsty. Keep a glass nearby and at the beginning, try to drink a gulp of it every time you do a certain thing - like hang up the phone or print off a document - something frequent and routine in your day. Try to cut out the sprite though, as like mama2be said, it dehydrates you. If you don't like the flavour of the water on its own, try adding a slice of lemon/lime/orange/grapefruit or chasing it with a bite of something healthy.

mama2be12.31.09 - 898 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yes i drink over 3 liters a day otherwise i get killer migraines so my doc told me to do this as well. you will def get more dehydrated adding soday carbonation and sugar dehydrate you. i used to be able to drink it but now that im pregnant i find it hard so i carry around a coleman water think that holds a liter that keeps it cold, and now i mix crystal light in it, experiment with it and see what flavor you like, personally they are almost all too sweet for me so i go with lemonade or raspberry lemonade. if you cut out all soda and coffee etc you will be left with no choice, and when u drink as much as they tell you there is no room for any other liquids lol. good luck and try to start off with just 64 oz(8-8oz glasses) and work your way up, you are supposed to drink 75% of your body weight in oz's . good luck it gets easier as you find it makes your body feel better, but at first always have a bathroom handy the first three weeks i peed constantly and that was pre prego

ladobruk - 898 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My Dr. said that is a myth. Drink when you are thirsty and you will get enough. Just have a bottled water handy and you will sip from it. I do drink lots of water, but I love iced water. I never have drank pop or juices.
