so Im thinking about getting an iud I wanna know all ur experiences and storys, I wanna know pros and cons, i dont know much about it but I do want too know and I dunno website says one thing I wanna know personal experiences. thanks good or bad!

alreadygot1 - 895 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have the Paraguard. It has ZERO hormones in it. That means that is has no side effects that typical birth conrtol or Mirena has. It does not cause weight gain, does not cause headaches or mood swings, does not caused missed periods, does not make you stop ovulating... The only side effect it does have is for the first few months (5 for me) the first day of your period is a little heavier and crampy. Nothing terrible though.I LOVE it. It is also nice because since it has no hormones your body does not have to regulate once you decide to get it taken out. You can get pregnant the first month you are off of it. It also has a higher success rate of becoming pregnant after it is removed. (according to my doctor). Plus... it lasts for 10 years (mirena lasts for 5)although you can get it removed at any time. Last thing... I only paid $56.00 for it!
