Question about membranes being stripped Added: 891 days ago. Added by: davidsrose Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
I am 38 weeks on friday and i am going to see the Dr tomarrow to get my membranes stripped, I am 1 1/2 cm and 50% faced i am having contractions every 3 min to every 10 min. Went into L&D twice when i was 36 weeks because i was having contractions every 2 to 3 min and they gave me a pill to stop them. My question is With stripping my membrans tomarrow does it work and put you into labor or should i just not do it because it is going to waste my time?

i had it done on my due date, i lost my plug that evening and was in labour 2 days after. it didn't hurt in the slightest it was just a little uncomfortable. it is no guarantee however that you will go into labour but by the sounds of it-your on your way anyway and this might just give it a little helping hand! good luck, x

I think you should do it if the Dr is allowing it at this point. I had it done and it did not work. Although I had, had no contractions at that point. You sound like you will go any minute and especially with stripping your membranes I bet you will go into labor. Good luck:)

a lot of my friends had to have it done twice , i think it depends how bad you want the baby out, a lot of women seem to think its slightly uncomfortable on this site, but all the girls i know said it was painful and not fun at all, but they were willing to try since they really wanted the baby out. i think im too big of a baby for that but maybe in 14 weeks ill change my mind!
