green beans are good bc they wont make you fat, and they will fill you up, plus they are healthy for you. i eat every few hours as well. you could be having a little growth spurt. my dr. said some months i wont gain anything, while others ill gain 5 lbs. she said just eat smart and try not to stress to much over it. with my first i was huge in the beginning then i just stopped at the end. they thought there were twins, they thought the baby was going to be big, but they were all wrong. its just the way my body grows during pregnancy. im the same with this one. i get big really fast, then at the end im sure i will slow down. every woman is different. and oh, with my first i gained over 85lbs and by 3 months PP, i was 10lbs lighter than before i got pregnant. i had major water issues. even now the top of my stomach is rock hard and im bloated most of the time. you could easily have water issues like i had.

if you're worried about eating too much, try eating more veggies and protein and less starch, starch will make you hungry faster, and veggies and protein will fill you up and keep you satisfied longer.

The average size of a fetus at 21 weeks is 12.70oz. so 1lb. at this gestation is about right as every baby grows at different rates. It is also normal to constantly feel hungry and to want large portions (or at least larger than you're normally used to) and to want to eat very frequently. With both of my pregnancies, I was always hungry and I felt like all I did was eat and eat and eat. I am normally a light eater, so the slight increase in food intake seemed really substantial. This is merely due to your body accomondating the baby's AND your needs. The eating frequently is due to the expanding uterus and such, which take up room for food therefore you tend to eat more often to make up for that. As far as your size; it's very unlikely that the doctor missed a multiple gestation. These are easier to detect in the first trimester since the uterus isn't as cramped. Also, the size of your belly doesn't always corresspond with the size of your uterus and your uterus size is what will determine being "bigger than I should be." If you're really concerned, I would talk to the doctor, but I am pretty certain that everything you're going through is normal...even the concerns of your size. I think all of us are concerned one way or another about our size during pregnancy, at least at one point. Good luck!
