My dd will be 6 weeks old Thursday. For the last 2 days she has cried non stop. She wants to eat like every hour but only maybe one or two ounces. She doesn`t have a fever, she isn`t hot or cold, I just don`t know. I can feel her teeth through her gums, could this be teething so soon? I`ve also given her gripe water and still no change. She is still peeing and pooing normal. Please help, I just don`t know what to do.

She could have acid reflux. try swaddling her very tightly with her arms pinned down and put her to sleep semi reclined like in a bouncy seat or car seat. Talk to your doctor about it. At one and a half months, she should still be in the size 1 nipple. Resist the urge to go up to a faster flow because it just creates more gas. Babies at this age have a very VERY strong need to suck so it shouldn't be tiring her out.

RobinG - 890 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Have you checked the nipple stage ~ babies who need to go up a stage will not eat the full amount and stop even though they are still hungry (she is stopping for a reason and not eating much either from possibly teething or small nipple stage) and then want to eat all the time and cry from hunger. The nipple stage being to small makes them need to suck harder and it is tiring and hard. I had to go to a stage 2 at 2-3 weeks old even though it is recommended much later. Dr. Browns has a good transition but avent doesnt so careful if you use avent. Plus if she is teething it hurts to suck. I'd give some tylenol too (((hugs)))

I used the swaddle wraps they love to be snug (make sure your baby isn't too warm or cold). I also bought colic calm off the internet, that only would work to soothe my son and then he could fall asleep so I loved it but it really only last a couple minutes. If your baby is gassy I suggest asking your doctor for Hyosine drops, they work wonders! (On top of the over the counter gas drops) I also brought my son to the chiropractor twice a week until 4 months old. I have always been a person very unsure of chiropractors but when you are in such a colicy situation you will try anything! AND I SWEAR BY IT! Anyway about the teeth, it could be but most babies gums feel like teeth are coming through when they aren't, but I'm not saying it isn't! So try cold on gums...and good luck!!! ~ mom of 3 little ones...I'm here if you need to talk! :)

mother649808 - 890 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I say either teething or colic. I've never had a colic baby but I've heard stories. I know that www.onestepahead.com has stuff for the colicky baby?!

clackkit - 890 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) She could be having a growth spurt and very possibly teething - Do you have any Bonjela or teething Gel of the sort because it works like a dream at settling a teething baby. Hope she settles for you soon :)
