I've had 2 and will have another one with this one. You don't feel anything more then a little pressure. You will be given an epi or a spinal which will completely numb everything from the boobs down. It's an interesting experience! The recovery is as good as you make it. Follow DR's orders and take things easy.

I had a c-section on 11/3/08. It was a piece of cake. Now, I will be honest. The hardest thing ( most painful) was getting the spinal block in. But that is only because of my body, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Once the meds go in there is no pain. In fact, my only problem was I got sick to my stomach right away. They give you something to stop that too. I did start sweating like crazy, which lasted about 24hrs. But that was hormones. I could feel the tube from teh suction hose bounce against my side, but that was about it. I felt "pressure" for a lot of it, but no pain at all. In fact, I had no idea my daughter was out until my friend told me!!! Do not worry, I personally think a c-section is easy. If I ever have another that would be the way to go again...Good luck.

I was just as nervous as you! With my csection I didn't feel any pain. A little bit of pressure when they were pushhing on my tummy and getting the babies out but it wasn't painful at all. They will give you a test before they start and you you still feel pain then they will either give you more meds or put you under. Don't worry all will be fine!
