I have recently introduced solids to my baby. she is 6months old and until now she has been solely breastfed. Now she is eating food and has hard small bowel movements infrequently and seems to really struggle for very little poop. Should i go back to only breastfeeding and try food again in a few weeks? I have tried to get her to take water or watery juice but she just chews on the bottle or sippy cup as if she is uninterested in the new liquid. ideas?

giannasmomma - 881 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) sugar water works good too. Just add half tea spoon for 4-6 ounces.

giannasmomma - 881 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) What foods are you giving her? Try starting with rice cereal I used to mix it with formula. Since you breastfed only you can try formula or you can use applesauce to mix. You can use water too but my lil one would not eat anything if mixed with water. I would stick with cereal, applesauce, or other fruits first. When I quit breastfeeding my dr told me that constipation or harder bowls were normal. So keep trying for a little bit before giving up.
