ok..i feel sick to my stomach! today when i got home and changed my son i noticed discoloration on my sons diaper,,i thought maybe it was coming from his wee wee..(he is not circumsized) so i thought maybe he has an infection, i retracted his foreskin over the head of his penis..he didnt flinch, i was just trying to see if it was irritated! I then read on the internet that you SHOULD NEVER EVER DO that..it horrible and can cause adhesion, infections, severe pain! i was told that i didnt have to do anything special to clean it...which ive never retracted it before..but i was NEVER told to not move foreskin...idiot me didnt know its attached! i know.sounds horrible...do you think i screwed him for life.. i feel disgusted! he didn`t cry or anything. i just feel bad if i messed him up...and suggestions?

If he doesn't seem to have any problems then i wouldn't worry too much. You could just mention it next time he goes to the doc or call them if you are stressing about it to get reassured.

For some boys the foreskin attaches closer to the tip of the penis, and is less elastic, and retracting it would cause that sensitive area to hurt and even bleed. Upon healing it may adhere If your son did not flinch or seem to be in pain, I'd say the opening of his foreskin is on the loose side, and will not adhere, as there was no damage, so nothing to heal. My son has to see a pediatric urologist once a year until he is three or so, as he has a slightly smaller testicle on his right side, that until recently, was undescended. That Dr. advised that retracting the foreskin is not necessary, and that as the boy grows, either from him playing with it (lol), or the natural growth of things - it should be able to retract fully by age 9. If you notice discoloration or problems with it staying clean, your Dr. may advise to start working on retracting it sooner, but for the most part, just regular bathing and soaking the penis in soapy water gets it clean enough to avoid infections. Don't panic! I'd say your little man is just fine!

Hey !!! Um, I don't have a boy either but my sister does and her son is also not circumized and he is 6 years old but like months ago his guy part LOL um got infected cause he would hide under his blankets and play with it so it swelled and she took him to the er the doctor there retracked his forskin over the head like 4 times cause it looked like the pee hole closed from it being so swelled and they put him on a fungus cream and and antibotics but when he was on the fungus cream she had to 3 times aday retract his foreskin over the head cause thats what the doctor told her to do ,so I really don't think you hurt him or anything like that cause when I was watching my sister do it and the doctor do it he would make a face and almost cry when it was infected so I really don't think you did any damage and I'm pretty sure if you did hurt him in anyway he would of let you know!!!!I hope this helps you out just a little bit .Take care .

I don't have a boy either sorry (although I am pregnant with one now!) I believe that in days gone by parents of baby boys were told to pull the foreskin back to clean it. So, even if you aren't meant to nowadays, I don't think you would have done any damage. If he wasn't in pain and you haven't caused any bleeding, try not to worry about it.

i dont have a boy.. however, i think you can relax, i am almost certain you are not the first concerned mother who has done this to check the well being of your boy.. i didnt know you wernt todo this. i work with people wo are disabled and most of them are men you are not mobile.. and we have to do perineal care (pull back the forskin and clean the dead skin around the head of the penis) his is standard care in taking care of someone who is incontinent.. im sure your boy is fine!!! :)
