Would you take the pill again?

We were ttc for plus four years before I got pregnant. I`m a happy mother of one son and would like to ttc next year again. Should I take the pill to prevent any unplanned mistakes or should I leave the pill and hopefully conceive next year without waiting four years again?

Cindie - 874 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I'd suggest nuvaring. My OB said it's got the lowest chance for weight gain and I was on it for 3 months. I had no wierd side effects and my period came back right after I got off of it. If I didn't gain weight so easily on hormonal methods i'd get on it instead of getting an IUD. You put the ring in for 3 weeks then remove it for a week or if you want to skip a period that month you just put a new ring in, it's safe. the guy can't feel it either. it won't mess with your fertility either. IF your sensative to hormones you should try an IUD or even condoms. I personally hate condoms because of how they feel and DH hates them too, lol. Cindie

Luzaan - 876 days ago Marietapp. Luckily I conveived naturally the firt time. I'm just worried when I'm ready for our next child that we will struggle again and don't want to struggle till I am over 30 years old. Thanks for all your comments everyone. I think we all feel more or less the same. Ya all are great! ;-)

lisab123 - 876 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I personally was on the pill most of my life and now after having had 3 miscarriages and taking some time to get pregnant I wont go back on it. I will use a condom and if an oops happens for us then we would be blessed. I guess it is just a personal opinion on what you believe. I dont think the pill is bad in any way but just not for me.

mariettap - 876 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It's a good question. There really isn't any way for any of us to know how long it will take to conceive in the future. We can try to plan it, but we don't get a vote on whether or not our plans are successful. Four years is a long time though, and I do know how frustrating it can be to wait for the next part of your life to start. Did you conceive naturally, or with the help of medication? You could consider a consultation this year with a reproductive endocrinologist to set up a plan for next year so you can get pregnant quickly when you feel the time is right. They usually say to do this if you have been TTC for a year (6 mos if over 35).

jacobbs-mommy - 876 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) No depo shot please! It is a terrible invention and should be taken off the market! It messes everything about your body up from gaining a ton of weight to making you have to many or to little female horomones. Good Luck!

jacobbs-mommy - 876 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If you've had trouble concieving after the pill then I wouldnt risk it and maybe try the ring or the patch, they're not as effective as the pill but one form of birth control is better than none if you dont want to concieve right now.

blondie9504 - 876 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had several m/c and my Dr suggested me to take the pill for a few months(that it would strengthen my female parts and get a regular cycle etc) After all that I had been through I was willing to try anything at that point, so thats what I did. I finished my last pack and then we started TTC. It didn't take very long lol that very month I got preggo and my little girl will be 8 weeks old Thursday. My Dr also suggested to take prenatal vitamins the whole time I was taking the pill and then afterwards of course too. I don't want anymore kids(I've got 3 stepchildren also) so I took the depo when I was leaving L&D and at my 6 week checkup I decided to get the IUD "Mirena" because it lasts for 5 years and I wont have to remember to take the pill every day. Don't take the shot, that was my problem TTC! It is a horrible thing but I took it once again because I know I don't want any more kids and I needed a "just in case" if I didn't wait to have sex.
